DataParis has taken all sorts of data regarding the city of Paris and created a tool that allows you to display it according to the nearest metro station -- revenue, politics, real estate prices, population density, education, etc. It even shows the number of people who use each and every metro station. It's an interesting way to while away the time and learn a few things about the city: dataparis.io/#

That is fascinating, but when I click on the closest station to chez Kerouac (I know which one it is; I have friends who live close by) I just get a general 18th arrondissement figure. One thing that is impressive is how much average incomes have increased at Barbès!
In general, it seems a very wealthy city, and I only clicked on a few of the posh west end stations.

It certainly confirms my general impression of the area of Paris I've mostly stayed in - and explains (as if I couldn't have worked it out for myself) the recent signs of gentrification and a move upmarket.
