luck of the draw, rikita. I wasn't blaming you. Besides, why should YOU volunteer to take the hit and be the last lovely image on a page?
(And I'm gonna hustle over to the Wood thread and repost one or two of them, since they are dead trees, anyway!)

All the silvery old trees you've here and in the Wood thread are really beautiful, Kimby.
The object in #65 appears to be an agave flower. If so, it's very big.

Thanks bixa. And thanks to Any Port, my eyes have been opened to the beauty of clouds and trees and local color. You all have piqued my interest in photography. And just looking at and appreciating beauty.

Rikita's reminds me of Aubrey Beardsley, or maybe of a turn-of-the-century papercut.
I love Kerouac's -- that light! those shapes!

Every October the Jacarandas come into full bloom in South Africa. This street is called Boom street/ a boom is a tree, so in English it would be Tree Street. It is my favourite street in our city of Pietermaritzburg I love the way the petals make a carpet around the trees.

You've got to tell me where you took that leafy shot Kerouac! It is really lovely! With the railing in the background I am guessing it's in a park?

It's at Les Halles. Most of those trees will be removed soon.

Great shot, but that tree looks like it needs to consult a doctor as soon as possible!

It's a cork oak in Portugal. Just think of all those wine bottles it has donated to!

This ancient Boabab tree was already quite old when the Pioneers were moving inland and trading with the people of Mozambique. (Kruger Park has a border with Mozambique )The tree is in the famous Kruger National Park and one is allowed to get out and inspect it up close..........at your own risk We always drive around it every time we visit.

I love baobabs. But they do look more as though they are more interested in struggling for survival rather than just ensuring our visual pleasure.

I know what you mean Kerouac. What I want to find is a photo of a boabab flower. Now that is something really lovely and hard to believe it flowers on an old knarled tree like the boabab!

I can't believe the beauty on this single page.
Tod's jacarandas appear to be dancing in the first shot, whispering together in the second, and raising their voices in song in the third.
Kerouac's golden lady shakes out her skirts, while Bjd's tortured giant writhes. The dignified baobab patiently endures endless seasons.
But that last photo instills a joy for being alive!

We were sitting out on the porch having an evening 'slurp' when suddenly the dying sun shone a last golden glow on the trees across the road: In front shaddow are Pacific Redwoods planted in 1940:

Kerouac's reply #64 could so easily have been taken at the beginning of my street had I not seen the water and little boats in the picture! Here's ONE of the trees I pass by 10 times a day. It is clinging to a wall built by Italian prisoners of WWII.
