A bit of spice for a boring Sunday

I don't know about you, but I find Sundays to generally be excruciatingly boring. Today was just routine for a start -- I went to see Ken Loach's Looking for Eric at the cinema this morning, and then I took my mother for a drive all over Paris until we got to the good part -- her McFlurry with Kit Kat balls and caramel syrup. (I try to avoid the chocolate syrup since some of it will always go down her front in spite of my napkin spreading.)
Then I got rid of the Fiat Panda and went home to discover that my street was on fire.
From what I could see, it was an underground parking fire in one of the most modern building in the street. There was quite a bit of smoke, so I was very glad that I lived upwind from the blaze.
Actually, the whole deal was not very impressive, but it got everybody out on the street and talking, which is never a bad thing.
Assuming that one or more cars burned, I was trying to imagine how sooty and horrible the other cars must be after an underground fire. It must take a whole lot of cleaning and they probably still stink for weeks, if not months.
They partially reopened part of the street a little while ago, so I went to get a closer look. Yes, it was definitely a fire underground.
I saw that the residents of the upper floors at least had gone back to their apartments. That means that the elevators are still working. When I used to live in a tall modern building, we had a parking lot fire once but did not have elevators working for at least 48 hours.
The firemen and police were just relaxing. They probably get bored on Sundays, too.
