But can you lift one corner of your mouth (in a sneer) or both? I can only do the right. The neuron connection doesn't exist to move the left lip. When I try, it's the right one the goes up.

You're right, kimby, I can sneer with the right side of my upper lip practically up into my nose, but the right side is practically paralyzed. WTF???? |

| i can do both the eyebrow and the sneering thing with both sides, but the left side is easier, with the right side i need a moment to coordinate the movement, and it looks a bit weird... |

Hey!! After a coupla glasses of wine, I found I can sneer with the left side of my upper lip, but it feels different from the right one...
Good thing no one's here to see me!

I'm happy to see this problem resolved. Of course in my testing, I found that sans wine, I can only sneer with the left side of my lip. So naturally, I wondered, is the dominant lip sneering side related to or opposite of your "handedness?"
Actually, further testing on my part shows that wine does not give the other side of my mouth any advantages.
Also, to make up for my lack of wine-enhanced ambidextrous lip sneering, I can confirm that I can both curl my tongue and flare my nostrils. At the same time. Really!

Nah, just trying to make up for my inability to have my camera at hand when the moment strikes.
I mean, I do have some talents... even if they aren't especially useful outside of potted parties.
Actually, I am really delighted to see that paristraveler shares my interest in the scientific side of such things. |

Today I wondered why I am sitting in the office when it's actually 'Liberation Day'* and a public holiday!
*Not from the French, that's Independence Day. Liberation Day is the day the Vietnamese started invading and driving the Khmer Rouge out into the hills. |
