Can I buy a Mobiho SIM card at Orly? Are they widely sold in Paris?
How about Orange SIM cards?

Orange is the #1 SIM card since Orange is owned by France Télécom (whose name will disappear forever soon and be replaced by 'Orange').
I have never heard of Mobiho.

Orange Mobicartes can practically bought in public restrooms. They are everywhere! You can recharge them in pay phones and ATMs.

Public restrooms? Thanks for the information. I will wait until we get to Paris to buy a card rather than ordering one in the States.

I guess I am confused regarding this subject. When we go to Paris, we just sign on for an international coverage with AT & T and we pay .99 per minute calling. We have never purchased an European or French Sim Card, so what am I missing here? We have no roaming charges.

I am a Verizon subscriber, so their CDMA phones do not work in Europe. I bought a cheap ($45) unlocked Motorola V197 and will purchase a SIM card in Europe.

I am unsure how much it costs to call the U.S. with a French mobile phone, but I know that it is far less than $0.99 per minute. If you buy a phone card to use in pay phones, it costs something like $0.02 per minute.
My own land line gives me local calls to something like 38 countries, including the U.S. and Canada without even asking. As for people using phones through their internet subscriptions (not even Skype), they have free calls to about 50 countries.
I have noticed on other travel forums how surprised the North Americans are to rent apartments with free calls to North America from the phone there. I just consider it to be normal.
