We're all on a computer here, but most of us don't know all of the geek tricks that amaze us when "those people" are helping to get the damned thing to work, not to mention not understanding all of their terminology. Here is a site that can help us.

Oh yeah ~~ forgot to show off some of my pre-computer geeky info: a geek was not a circus freak as stated in the article. A geek was (is?) a carnival performer who ate weird stuff -- lightbulbs, pieces of metal, etc.

I had always read that it was the person who would rip the head off a chicken with his teeth.
Formerly, the term referred to a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken, bat, snake or bugs. (Wiki)
