I have become a staunch Firefox user, sneering as only I can sneer at lumpish, clunky IE.
However, a few minutes ago I had to open both browsers to check something, & opened them both to Any Port.
You can't believe how much better images are in Firefox. I had the thread "Geocaching" open -- In IE I had to click on 'show image' for Mark's cat to show up, & when it did it had that digitally edge to it. But in Firefox the cat shows up right away & looks very natural. My beautiful shoes have ragged edges in IE, but are sleek & gleaming in Firefox.
The hand holding the GPS looks about the same in both, & the news fader performs better in IE, but overall, Firefox wins with images.

I just compared, and the photos are indeed sharper on Firefox.

I wouldn't go back to IE even if it was better purely and simply because it's part of the demon Microsoft.

well i every now and then use ie, but very seldom... used it for a while when i had computer problems and was trying to figure out what caused it (so taking down and putting back up various programs). but now with the new computer right back to firefox.

The point though Askar is - with your two screenshots, doesn't it depend on whether I'm viewing it with IE or Firefox?

Don't know and don't care about pics, what I do know is that Firefox is faster, and way better. I had a huge argument with systems last week, cause they wouldn't install it at work (security politics). Well, I found a way to jump over the security politics and installed it myself. And I am HAPPY!!  |

I have just upgraded to Firefox 3.0.6. but I don't see any amelioration in the readability of the fonts. Good for you if you find Firefox better (in what?) and "faster" (I very much doubt it) I keep MY Internet Explorer  . |

Ironically, last night IE was really fast for me. However, there are features from Firefox that I really like -- the bookmark menu bar, the option to remember passwords, and yes, it is much faster. So, I won't fight you for the Internet Explorer!

I am trying to remember to use Firefox, it does seem to be better (for some reason I hate change), but I normally open IE and use it until late afternoon and then remember I want to use Firefox, with this thread on the go, I remember as soon as I log in in the morning.

Well, I just discovered something amazing in Firefox -- and discovered it completely by accident.
Probably everyone else already knows this, but I was amazed: On the "go back" arrow on your Navigation Bar (the one with the url in it), right click. How 'bout that, huh?!
I can't quite tell yet what the sequence is, but it seems to be confined to places here that I've visited this morning. It could be a nifty tool!

It will show the pages you have opened but only in that tab. If you go to a different tab the list will be different. It will only show a list from when you opened that tab. When you close down a tab or the whole browser, and re-open, it will start again. Kerouac - Firefox also has a function to remember when you fill out a form, like for car hire or flight ticket, and has an "auto-fill" function that will fill out each field on demand. Does IE? Bixa - have you opened up the "Tools" - "Options" and seen what you can do? As with IE you can also add and take away buttons on the tool bars to customise what you use most. |
