*sigh*

I am so sorry you guys. I've been sick and am only now seeing all of these reports after Casimira's yesterday afternoon.

Just checked on the Support board, and no similar problems are being reported. I will report your problems, of course, but would like to try one thing first.

Can those of you who've experienced the glitches please clear your caches to see if that makes any difference?

(to clear cache: go to google and put in how to clear cache in - - -, filling in the name of your browser.)

If no change in performance, please let me know & I will promptly report the problem.

=======================================================

This will not have any bearing on the forum-stretching issue, but is a handy thing to try if your connection is balky or slow:
Go to that little double-monitor icon on the bottom right of your screen and click.
A window will open saying "Local Area Connection Status".
It has two tabs. Click on "Support".
When that opens, click "Repair".
There will probably be a little notice next to the Repair button saying that windows did not detect any problems with the connection. Ignore that and click the Repair button anyway.

My screen seems back to normal again and other problem I was having is resolved as well, for now. I am having some other technical issues that clearly are my computer and have help coming tomorrow to resolve. :-/
Thanks!
(although, the thing with after just posting does some weird jumping around ,I can live with it.)

If you click on it, it will explain itself. (I'm waiting for a reason to use it.)

It starts a completely new thread of your choice while still quoting the post that intrigued you.

Yes, absolutely, Imec ~~ go fork yourself a thread!

The creator of that function has given permission to use his excellent picture tutorials:

Imec asked above about 'fork'. That, and other recent innovations to the forum are:

1. Fast return to main page -- just click on the logo in the banner.

2. You can now select any skin and remove the background. Go to 'modify profile' > 'acct. preferences'.

3. Fork/split threads. Quickly springboard off one topic to a new one you create.
   Tutorial/examples: http://iycatacombs.com/socal/resources/s....ds/preview.html (<--used w/permission)

5. Want to edit a long post and don't want to scroll back up to the top?
Double-click on the post and modify away!

6. Photobucket slideshow capability. Set up a slide show with your selected photos in photobucket, or use
their button which gives the url to turn any album into a slide show. Paste the direct url here, highlight, click on the blue photobucket button, then add the dimensions you want.

    Enjoy!

You all will be seeing a bright new world as you enter anyport today. Pretty much everything is self-explanatory. However one new enhanced function might not be immediately obvious. You'll see the "nav tree" running across the top of the forum and also across the very bottom. If you'll click on the date/time (far right), it will toggle to show all the options.

There is also a spiffy new default skin. You won't see it automatically unless you open anyport without being logged in. To try it out as your very own, simply go to Modify Profile (easy, with the new nav tree!) and select the skin, "any port in a storm".

And speaking of skins, remember you now also have the option of removing the background from any skin, giving you many more choices.

Apologies to anyone who was locked out while the changes were being made.

I can't see it. If I look at the 'nav tree' with Inbox/Outbox/Modify Profile/Booksmarks/Recent there is NO Logout button beneath 'Modify Profile.' Is this where it is for you?

If I click on Jazz to bring up my Profile, there is no Logout button.

I don't think you all are looking in the right place, Spindrift and Jazz. Look to the right of the logo -- there is a list: Home; Search; Members; Profile; Logout.

See it?

OK. It sounds as though bjd and I (at minimum) have the same problem.

Bixa, if I look at the logo at the top in a box, this is what I see,

_________________________________________________
« Home » Hey, Jazz, you have xxx messages, 0 are new.
Jul 22, 2010, 12:40pm
and to the right in the box, Home, Search, Members in smaller boxes under each other.
NO Profile, NO Logout.

Is this where it is supposed to be?

Okay -- that's strange!

Sorry, you all. I can't imagine why that's happening, but will find out.

If one of you could post or pm me a screenshot, that would be extremely helpful.

Also, please let me know what skins you are using.

Thanks.

Hi all ~~

A quick update:

Everyone should be able to log out and in now.

The problem lies in the "help" button, which we wanted to remove. You would still be able to access the host board's Support forum from the bottom of any page here. However, as anyone who has ever clicked on that button knows, it's not useful for fast, anyport-specific help. So, we'll keep working on getting our anyport banner to be completely beautiful and in the meantime, at least you can leave port!

I just came back and I have all the buttons now, including a Help button. I use Firefox on a Linux base -- no Windows.

I also have put the new AnyPort skin which I like.
