I have no pearl of wisdom to impart about summer colds, just the fact that I have one. It always seems so unfair to get a cold in the summer, except that the weather is so unlike summer that it was nearly inevitable.
And another thing that made it inevitable is that two of my colleagues already had a cold last week. I guess I can thank them for this.

My immune system must be particularly strong lately. My DH came down with a virus last month which had him at home for a week coughing a lovely, deep, phlegmy tubercular cough. He stayed home on doctor's advice as apparently he was very contagious. I was fine - never a hint of it.
Could have used a week off.

To my horror I discovered that I had run out of my huge stock of American cold medicines (mostly from Wal-Mart). Since generally most of it has officially expired before I use it, this implies that I have not been back to the U.S. for too long. I think I have maybe one dose of (blecccch) Dayquil left and then I have to revert to real medication.

My lungs are filling with phlegm and I will soon be dead.
And I don't think I have ever made that word playing Scrabble because I would never see it on the rack with the letters mixed up.

Kerouac, that means you have much more than a summer cold. My husband has suffered with a phlegmy chest since we got back and because he has a weak chest ( runs in the family) I have put him on anti-biotics that are suited to chest infections, nasal problems and any other upper respiratory problem. He is taking ORELOX 100mg twice a day.
Look after yourself, things can get horrible.
