France just had its first season of this, and I confess that I am not a big fan of it, even though I saw maybe half of the shows (and never cared about the ones I missed).

But I am impressed by unstoppable determination, in this case a candidate who was on UK X Factor and was eliminated, and who then went on to apply for French X Factor, even though he would have to speak French and sing half of his songs in French.

Well, tonight he won, so I must give a hand to Matthew Raymond-Barker, age 21, who performed a really stunning 'Tik Tok' tonight, although it is not on line yet.

Here is the performance that absolutely clinched it for me. Naturally, the two older people who are rocking out in the audience are Mom & Dad, flown in specially for the event.
