Spindrift, you've actually been to some of the lesser-known islands, haven't you?

No.. only Tahiti due to an aircraft emergency landing.
I'm toying with the idea of taking off for Samoa...but on reading LPTT I learn that theft is rife on the island. Have you been to the Pacific islands?

My wife has spent months and months in Fiji. Once was when she was working on the film "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks. Unfortunately, she had nothing interesting to say about the place. When you are exiled in a 5-star hotel and work 12 hours a day, you don't really get to see much of island life, apparently.

I have been to in the souh pacific... Vanuatu, Fiji and New Zealand.
I've often thought of Samoa but I've been put off it by some of the violence a while back.
If you want an island where the locals will take very good care of you I'd suggest Vanuatu.
Fiji was good but when we were there there were political problems caused by the elections so were happy to get out of there.

Kerouac - I had no idea you were attached. Don't ask me why but I have always visualized you as a bachelor boy. Forgive my silly notion!

Oh, poor tod2, you didn't really think that kerouac2 was just one poor idiot spending too much time on the internet, did you?
It is actually a multifaceted collective of people with completely different lives.

Not really. Just a single dude - until I saw your mention of 'my wife' here on Oceania. I guess we all have misconceptions of the multifaceted collective of people with completely different lives that we 'talk' to on AnyPort. As I said...Forgive my silly notion
