Kimby! Thanks, and scrumptious is the word for some of the pictures -- Cheery's "sunset" canna, in particular. Love your angle on the dahlia, too, Cheery. Also thanks for sharing your loving vision of plants and to all for the encouraging words.

Oh gosh, Cheery ~~ those are some of your best pictures ever. The developing flower is a revelation.

Incidentally, that angel trumpet is planted on the common ground across the street from my neighbor's house in poor soil under a tree. Go figure.

Thanks good people.
This is not wine country....my helper/dear friend Luke planted that vine quite some time ago and I do believe it's a Muscadine although, I am not sure.
To me it looks more like some kind of Martha Stewart Christmas ornament a la Mediteranean. ;D (it has a spray painted look about it to me ???)
I snapped the pic on a fluke while shooting the Cassia blooms featured down in the garden thread.

I've seen you post this rose before Bixa,(dunno it's name?) but, never this beautiful & carefully composed a perspective.
Please might you share what type of setting you used on the camera to achieve the crispness and clarity.

Thanks -- you all really know how to encourage a person!

Casimira, I don't know the name of the rose ( ;D) either. I think I'm getting better at figuring out how to hold the camera for close-ups. Then, if it's a good picture, I use Photoscape to tweak it.

Please check out the section on Photoscape in Image Bank Technique. I'll be glad to try to answer any questions you have about it in that thread.

Absolutely beautiful photos Bixa! The rose I 'think' is called Anvil Sparks. This is from a distant memory of my one time 100 speciman rose garden before the ants got busy and ate the lot.

The yellow flower close-up is superb - well done you!

Oh the light playing on those hairy little buds - quite beautiful!
Do I spy a teeeeeny little green frog at the bottom of the Agave attenuata? Or is the debris just playing tricks ?

Thanks, Tod. I almost don't want that plant to bloom, I'm enjoying the buds so much.

I think that's just crud there. I don't think a frog could survive the sun at the time of day that pic was taken.
