Are you thinking of geese, K2? And we do eat geese. |
| Posted by kerouac2 on Apr 8, 2012, 5:57am |
| No, I'm wondering why we don't eat swans. |

It seems so wrong to eat something so pretty!

I think swans have very little meat - and I have heard it doesn't have a very nice flavour.
At a certain time of the year ( maybe more often) Queen Elizabeth's "Counter of The Swans" goes boating on the Thames to take stock of the swans. Pardon me for not giving him his correct title! |

Further back down the river the water board have launched their weed cutter ready for the season but a moorhen has immediately made a nest on top of the propellor housing - you can just about see it in this picture-

The power station appears to have been built on the water.
Lovely kimby , very lovely
Really enjoyed seeing your Indian photos Mark- are the men/boys fishing in no 2 of Dudh Talai ? |
| Posted by onlymark on Feb 22, 2013, 1:48pm |
| Mostly they are bathing lugg (with a bit of clothes washing). Some fishing does happen but mainly it is the far side of the trees in the big lakes. |

Your photos make India look quite spacious Mark! I also love the first two photos in reply#167.

| It can be spacious. You just have to find the right bits. |
