Located in north west Poland (not far from Szczecin) is a pine forest that looks like it came right out of a Hans Christian Andersen story. Around four hundred trees in the forest have been formed with a 90° horizontal bend in it's trunk before rising vertically again. more

Well, it does say "seven secret wonders of Poland". 
I am fairly certain that the canal boat that gets pulled on rails is an engineering solution that is (or was) used in other parts of the world as well.

I was thinking more on the lines of 19th century canal traffic, but thanks for getting me back on the rails of the 21st century.
