I don't know about any of you, but Kirk and I have a list. Here it is: Petra, Jordan, The Great Pyramids, Greece, Spain, more of Italy. A photographic safari, the Great Wall of China, Bhutan, Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Seychelles. In the United States, Charleston, S. C., the Big Apple, Washington, DC, Outer Banks, N. C., all of of the Northeast.

All of the Americas. Overland from Montreal down the US east coast, Mexico, Central America, down South America to Buenos Aires via Bolivia then head back north ultimately ending up in Rio would do for a start.

I would like to go down the eastern coast of Africa -- starting in Ethiopia & Eritrea, (I have been to Kenya, but would revisit with no problem) down to Mozambique and across Zambia to Namibia. I have never wanted to go to West Africa because I figured it would be too hot and humid, but sometimes I think I would like to go to Mali. And more of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I spent a month in the then-USSR, so no need to go to Russia. I have been to S America 3 times now and am returning in December to go to Colombia. The more I see, the more I want to see.
So many places to see -- so little time and money to do it.

Not so much a list of places as things to do. I really want to take an intensive German course (obviously in one of the German-speaking countries), and would also like to do some real immersion in Spanish - which I speak much better than German but I really need a "bath" in it.

Pacific Island such as Cook Islands, Samoa...Indonesia...Tibet....Bhutan...Bangladesh, Burma, Namibia, St. Helena, an island in the Caribbean called Saba, the Andamans, more of India (Tamil Nadu), where Mesapotamia was.....Sicily, Mozambique.

I don't think I'd want to visit Pacific islands, or any islands at all. Too small, I get bored too quickly. I wouldn't return to Namibia either, I didn't like it much. But Mocambique and India, definitely yes.

I would include Madagascar in my east coast of Africa for sure. Not especially keen on tropical islands either. I get bored on beaches very quickly and I don't imagine there is much else there.

Iceland - stunning scenery, gentle people and the magical music of Sigur Ros. Please, please, please watch this excerpt from the masterpiece Heima - a documentary film of the bands tour of their home country, playing to tiny audiences from tiny villages and involving the locals in their performances at every opportunity. To be their roadie on this tour would have been a dream trip for me...

bjd - I'm never bored if I'm swimming, snorkelling or diving. There's so much to see underwater. Hopefully one can ride a bike round most islands...well I have on the Seychelles. Robert Louis Stevenson is buried on top of a mountain in Samoa. I want to go up there. Well, anyway I love coconut-fringed beaches....

I have a while to go before I consider a 'Bucket List,' but I need to eventually drive the length of the Pan-American Highway. That'll cover the Lower Americas, and the places I want to see.
Most pressing for me: Africa. I want to start in Europe, then take the Orient Express to Istanbul, then overland through the Middle East into Egypt, and continue to Cape Town. Came up short in Istanbul last time. And if there's time, I want to work my way back up the Western coast of Africa.

We keep a list on top of the desk by the phone so when it's time to start bugging the airlines about allowing us to spend some of our frequent-flyer miles on an international trip, we have alternatives at hand when they say "no" to the first request. (Of course, we usually run through the whole list without success scaring up a ticket. The whole FF system sucks, and has only gotten worse when they merged our two major airlines, resulting in even fewer reward seats.)
Near the top of the list is India (where we were booked to go in October 2001, but switched our tickets to Costa Rica after the towers fell), Botswana/Zambia, Indonesia, Peru and Galapagos, Guatemala/Honduras/Nicaragua, Venezuela, Malaysia/South Thailand, and surprisingly, Greece. (Our trips are usually too late in the fall to enjoy the Greek Islands, so we keep putting it off until a future year when we'll travel earlier.)
Bhutan is on my list, but Mr. Kimby seems indifferent on that one, so maybe I'll find a girlfriend who wants to go there. I also wouldn't mind visiting Aruba/Bonaire, and Tahiti/Fiji, but can't seem to interest my travel pal.

I wonder if I will ever see the Arctic or Antarctica, since I have no business there, it would be unecological, and they are not the cheapest places to go.

So many places...first would be South East Asia. I have been seduced by the stories and photos of Hwin, Ilbonito and Kerouac. My ignorance is so vast that it's hard to plan. Probably I would be travelling alone, as I usually do. (and love, but also love spending a bit of time with someone who makes his/her home in a specific place). Nothing is quite so exciting as being shown around by someone who lives there. For the first trip I think I would go to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. It would be good to have 1-2 months to do this.
Then, I would like to spend some time in the Middle East and North Africa. Iran, Syria and Lebanon fascinate me. Once I spent a month in Turkey and I loved it, although it may be a problem travelling as a single woman in the Middle East. Not sure. Then, perhaps Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia? Before I die I want to spend a few nights camping out in the desert and riding around on a camel . In Turkey I went for a camel ride and it was geat!

I think that a single woman, taking proper precautions, can probably travel around 90% of the planet without any problems. The Muslim countries are not necessarily a problem, but certain hypocritic statements will make things easier in such places.

Until 2009 I'd never been abroad on holiday...a lack of funds, lack of ambition and fear of flying combined to keep CPB firmly in Blighty.....
However, in 2009 my beloved put his foot down and insisted I got a passport (at the grand old age of 53)....soooo
Since September 2009 we've been on 2 cruises...one included a visit to Pompeii a place I'd always wanted to visit...2nd cruise was around the Canaries, Madeira and Morocco....I like abroad now... Recently had a week in the Algarve.....so I now consider myself an intrepid explorer....
My beloved is now having to hide the passports or I'd be booking holidays right, left and centre....I'd love to visit Egypt (wanted to be an Egyptologist when I grew up when I was a girl), Japan, United States, Galapagos.....well everywhere really....
