Welcome to Any Port in a Storm.

Any Port is a community of voyagers –- former, current, and aspiring -- from around the world. Anyone interested in the world around them will find things of interest here.

We suggest beginning your time in Any Port at Landmarks. It does not begin to cover everything available, but will give an idea of what there is to see on any given day.

Compass Points is our window on the world. Discover what Any Port members have to say and show about points around the globe, and contribute your own information and insights.

Beyond the Breakwater caters to the dream of travel, with the photo essays in Post Cards covering everything from daily life to exotic encounters. Post your own exceptional adventures or read about those of others in Ports of Call. And there are useful aids for making a successful getaway in Shipping Out.

Recharge your cultural batteries On the Plaza. In Image Bank you can appreciate the photography skills of others or display your own, as well as hone those skills. The Library is open to readers at all hours. The Maritime Museum is for arts both fine and from the streets. Languages, grammar, and slang all get sorted out Where Words Collide.

For lighter culture and entertainment, visit Neon Lights. Change the Station is all about music. Enjoy recommendations and discussions about the silver screen or the tiny tube in the Screening Room.

Dockside Dining caters to your gustatory needs. Talk about eating to your fill On the Menu. Whether hardtack or cordon bleu, The Galley will provide how-to’s and welcome your recipes. The After Dinner section allows those in a digestive stupor to reminisce about memorable meals and dining experiences.

Stay in touch with world events and exchange opinions at The Beacon. Port and Starboard is the place for healthy debate and discussion. Share ideas and information concerning ecology in Saving the World. Hang out with the homebodies and gardeners in Putting Down Roots. For more topics of light or weighty interest, read The Back Pages.

Around Town offers two districts for general conversation. Recharge your batteries, be serious or zany in the Free Trade Zone. Or go to Waterside Park for a more genteel atmosphere for relaxing and conversation.

The Warehouse District houses the Science Dock for learning about the earth, sea, and sky. Finally, don’t say we didn’t warn you about the Free Clinic, whose medical staff do not display a diploma.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
