Lovely...I like tulips in other peoples' gardens...I've got a few grape hyacinths that the birds planted. My daffs are over now but yours look spiffing Mick.

Excellent growing weather, I have always fought a war in my garden against dandelions, but walking up the lane this morning I realised there had been a bumper crop.

Yes, never seen so many dandelions as this year. Roundabouts are a sea of yellow.I can mow them off my lawn but next day they are back.

Bees love them. They're pretty. I only weed dandelions out of the flower beds..everywhere else I just deadhead them after the flowers fade and before they set seed.

Bjd, that calla lily picture is a triumph.

It was a fluke, Bixa, but I'm quite pleased with it. Actually, since I have been working the soil after taking out the hedge, a whole bunch of those calla lillies have sprung up in the garden.

Lovely pictures Fumo. Trilliums? Yes, Trillium ovatum. The others are Bleeding Heart, Dicentra formosa, Salmonberry, Rubus spectabilis, and Red-Flowering Currant, Ribes sanguineum. And Canis lupus familiaris too of course.

As everybody knows, these colourful things on bougainvillea are not the actual flowers. Does anybody know the botanical name of these attributes? i.postimg.cc/jSmDqt6g/Roma_107.jpg

These are all so lovely. My garden is drowning...heavy rain for a week and blackfly all over the dahlia buds. it will be fine...

Oh my gosh, I have missed some real glory on this thread! Apologies to all. I was traveling & using a poky little laptop. Now I'm glad I waited, because the pictures show up in their true beauty on my home laptop. Amboseli! I am blown away by your photos and the flowers themselves are utterly gorgeous. Wow! That just-opening clematis couldn't be more wonderful, and the pink poppy *swoon*! Bjd, what a treat to see Amboseli's clematis followed by yours. They're just beautiful and am I correct in thinking this is their very first season? Even more impressive! The delicate creamy colors of both your rose and your lily are just dreamy. Thank goodness for Italian bougainvillea so I wouldn't get homesick. Great picture. Don't call other members brats, Mark -- it's not nice. Ohhh, Cheery, I think dahlia is pretty tolerant of rain. Can you try spritzing a weak soapy solution on a test bud to see if it gets rid of the blackfly?
