Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (because it exposed me to an entirely different way of thinking) The Origin by Irving Stone (also will re-read his Agony and Ecstasy, because they are fascinating biographies of fascinating people) Green Mansions by William Henry Hudson (because it captured my adolescent heart and I still love the story Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey (because I love the desert he writes about, and love his irreverant attitude toward human foibles) A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold (because it's a beautiful series of essays about the part of the world I grew up in, and espouses an environmental ethic that I believe in)
I'm sure there are lots more, but that's a start.
