"Conspiracy buffs",those persons who latch onto usually an event along with event(s) leading up to and subsequent event(s)thereafter. A prime example here in the states would be the JFK assassination. From plane crashes to "natural" disasters there seems to be an endless array of theories and beliefs regarding. 9/11 of course, brought many out of the closet and onto the internet. I've known quite a few in my time from the mildly interested to the fanatic. Sometimes the arguments and theories are interesting and compelling. Others ,so far out there... Is there a conspiracy buff in your life or has there been? I'd be interested in feedback on this.

I absolutely adore the "WTC Building 7" conspiracy. The documents have me 49.9% convinced every time.

yes,it is rather compelling. One rarely ever hears talk about Bldg. #7 and the vast majority of the population never even heard of Bldg. #7. No one wants to touch it,media, forget about it. They have mortgages to pay.,tuitions to pay. Any one who brings it up is classified as a "wing nut".No one wants to touch it.

My conspiracy buff friends, there's 3 main ones that get together with a couple hanger oners, they contend and I quote "Oswald HAD to be shot and Building 7 HAD to come down". The other big fixation some years back ,I want to say '96 was the TWA Flight 800 from JFK to Paris that went down in the Atlantic off the coast of SE Long Island. Mr. C. and I were up there when it happened. There were so many stories,as there always are ,but what was weird is how many different people saw the same thing(it was at night)at the same exact time and their stories got hushed and discredited. I remember there was debris on the beach and anyone who found anything was to turn it into the local FBI (what a joke!).Several people I know found plane pieces,Mr. C. found a hunk of "trim tab" from one of the wings. That whole thing was never really resolved to my satisfaction and I didn't follow it ALL that closely. I simply don't trust the government or whatever" powers that be".

Anybody seen any black helicopters recently?

I remember there was a science fiction novel about people from the future who would pop up on planes that were about to crash, gas the passengers temporarily and evacuate them to the future, replacing them with fake burned bodies that they grew in a factory or something.
That would be nice.

I'll just say I'm very, very skeptical of any conspiracy/UFO/Bigfoot/Yeti/Nessy stories. Just recently dinosaurs were found on friezes at Angkor! It even made the papers...
Sorry, can't find the PP Post article.

Anybody seen any black helicopters recently? Not recently but...a few years ago right around dusk I was out working in the garden. I remember it was the first time I realized there were bats, which I was real excited about. A little while later I heard an enormous whirring sound, really, really loud, and it was getting closer and closer. Up in the sky, just above the treetops ,were a half dozen or so BLACK HELICOPTERS. I ran inside the house and called Mr. C. and over the phone I could hear same said ruckus(he was around the corner at the local saloon). They very nearly took off the treetops here . Then they were gone. No mention in the news about this matter but everyone was talking about it because they HAD done some significant damage in the same neighborhood. Finally, there was a piece in the newspaper about the military doing some training maneuvers off the rooftop of a school nearby. I'll never forget how frightened I was and can only imagine that some other poor unsuspecting souls may have been downright traumatized as something of that nature could trigger any number of unpleasant reactions. Of course, after Katrina we experienced helicopters flying over all the time and it became a most unpleasant reminder of the city's plight. But that's a whole other story there isn't it?

But why were you still frightened after you had received the explanation? I know they're loud but there's no danger normally.

I was frightened at the time it occurred and then, not having an explanation for several days ,and then, doubting the explanation because generally, when something like this occurs "they" let people know beforehand so people don't freak out. And why would "they" practice maneauvers in a heavily populated urban area anyway, risking damage to private citizens and their property(which did occur).

Oh, the ancient spaceships (Mayan carvings) were what Erich von Daeniken interpreted them as: There are more of course, here's an interesting 'unraveling': members.tripod.com/~A_U_R_A/abydos.html

my take? you mean what i think of it? well it seems pretty nonsensical to me. particularly, if like those people i knew, you think there is a big jewish conspiracy behind keeping it secret in an attempt to use this knowledge to take over the world. i think if there was indeed a world inside the world, then it would be common knowledge by now.

It's top secret, Cas. Have promised the CIA.... oops! Hollow earth? I heard the exact opposite! Not Jewish people in there but nazis. They call it new Suebia. Now that's one ridiculous theory, whichever one you believe. BTW, look at those old mysteries concerning the disappearences of St. Exupery (solved after 60 odd years), Amelia Earhart (more or less solved, they found an old shoe and parts of an identical plane she was using on a Pacific island) or even Steve Fosset (remains found after 13 months). Everything clears up eventually.

I have ridden in a helicopter once in my life and a very small one at that. How do those things stay in the air without alien trickery?

I've taken a couple of rides in helicopters, we didn't have time for the views though... I was always happy to have solid ground under my feet.

I was in the army and I think it was always at night I've never flown in a civilian helicopter though I might get a chance yet. A lose friend of mine flies in Siem Reap in the north west, which is where Angkor is located.

There was no plan to put a window in the first space capsules either. "Why would you need to see outside?"
