Well, it went over my head, FMT. ;D I still think it's cute and catchy & will be very popular, and you do have to admire my politeness in finding something honest to say about it. ( ) That's not the same as saying it's good. You'll note that she is being hailed as the new Justin Bieber. Doesn't that just say it all? Anyway, your post let me to learning about Auto-tune. Learning something is always a good thing, no?

It is undoubtedly catchy Bixa, there's no denying that or the fact that it's stuck in my head. Your politeness and honesty is admired.

Very nice! I love his voice. Although the song is wonderful, it would be great to hear him in a more unrestrained setting, really letting loose. His voice reminds me somewhat of Marc Broussard, when Broussard is not doing that annoying breathy style that has become so popular, even with singers who have good rich voices. listen.grooveshark.com/s/Rising+Sun/2VDpI9?src=5

Learning something is always a good thing, no? from BBC News:A song by a 13-year-old American teenager has gone viral on the internet after being widely described as the worst one ever recorded.
Rebecca Black's pop song called Friday has been viewed on YouTube more than 29 million times.
It has trended on Twitter and been the subject of huge online comment and discussion.
Mainly because it's been derided by millions of people for what they say are its awful lyrics.
Ones like "yesterday was Thursday Thursday, today it is Friday Friday", "gotta get down to the bus stop, gotta get my bus, i see my friends" and and "we we we so excited, we so excited".
People have been quick to criticise the song for more than just its words.
The teenager's heavily auto tuned singing and video have also been labelled as terrible.

Stuck on this tune for days now...the harmonica is positively haunting,my father played the harp,so,it makes me a bit weepy when I hear a good melancholy sounding one....

My sister turned me on to this San Francisco group. These women are really growing on me. There are six cuts in this YouTube loop. I especially like Pass the Buddha, Jump Start, and La Llorona.

We go up to Timmins at least once a year, my husband's father's family still live there. We have gone out for drinks at some of the bars she used to sing at as a kid. My husband's cousins went to school with her. There is a Museum there in her honour but we have never bothered to go, we usually head out to the family cottage for the weekend. They are very proud of her achievements. I laugh when I look at her teeth, all the girls in Timmins seem to have gone to the probably the one and only orthodontist and he seemed to know one way of doing things. Absolutely love her music, I am a big fan. Cheers, Mich

Yeah, she's a great performer. I admire how far she has come. Really, from a very bad childhood, ( Her parents were poor and unfortunately they died in a car crash when she was young). She had to raise her younger siblings alone. Out of all this pain and hardship, she worked hard and with determination and sheer will power, somehow managed to create a career for herself and become a star.
mich, I know she used to have to wake up in the early hours as a kid to perform in local bars, I would like to see that museum that is dedicated to her, I need to make a trip up to Timmins one of these days.
I have many Shania Twain favorites, but this one really gets to me:
Shania Twain - God Bless The Child

Well Deyana if you do go up to see it, stop and pick me up, you have to drive right through here. I can show you how to get there! This song you chose was a song she donated all the proceeds to her charity to fight Child Hunger. Her Charity tries to make sure schools have lunch programs for children so if they don't have a lunch to bring, they can get a good meal at school. They also have breakfasts at some of the schools now as well.
She is an amazing person who has done many things privately to help many people. She has a home in the Hunstville area too. We seen her sing at Deerhust in the late late 80's. She sang Over the Rainbow and had the most beautiful green sequin dress on, I will never forget it. I remember saying, she will not be singing here for long. Cheers, Mich
