Languishing?! You think a boy and a girl stuffed into a drawer, then later shut up in a box in your shed are only languishing? No funny smells coming from the shed, huh? Bixa! You naughty girl! ;-)

The both of you crack me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I interpreted Bix's translation and it never even occurred to me to think of the other.
That makes you even naughtier Kimby!!!!!
On another note again you and I Kimby again having some commonalities. This time with the pen pal thing in high school.
I started a thread on Pen Pals many years ago and don't recall your response.
Anyway, I loved corresponding with this girl in Sweden. We swapped 45's of The Beatles She Loves You. Hearing it in Swedish was so exotic, weird and funny all at the same time.

I'll go looking for it. Time for a revival, perhaps?

Strictly speaking it's 70 years because it was 20 years ago today, Sgt Pepper told the band to play... Actually my 15 year old mountain of a grandson has just discovered it and now has Beatlemania. It's all he's playing at present.

To think that anybody under the age of 47 was born after the Beatles separated. I suppose that must make me impressed by the Rolling Stones for the first time in my life.

Heard this one the other day...'I would just like to be able to cut my toenails and breathe at the same time' I remember those distant days when I could manage that....

I can still bite mine.
I'm not allowed to do it at the dinner table though. In fact, in any room in the house unless I'm alone. The bath is usually a good place I've found.

Hotel rooms always had writing paper and envelopes. I bet a lot of young people don't know that.

Sgt Pepper was smuggled into the Youth Pavillion at Expo 67 Mtl: 1st hearing in North America.
All this stuff makes me feel very old, but not nearly as much as my painful hip.

Sgt Pepper was smuggled into the Youth Pavillion at Expo 67 Mtl: 1st hearing in North America. I remember where I was exactly when that album came out. I used to babysit for these very cool people that had all the new and hip music, this album being one. Jefferson Airplane's Surrealistic Pillow was another.

I was also reminded of something by another thread -- the wonder of having a barometer in my grandparents' house, which would be religiously reset in the kitchen every morning to be able to determine upcoming meteorological variations. Actually we also had a barometer in our home in the southern United States, but it was not reliable because the weather variations were too extreme and too rapid to be useful.

We had one too when I was about 8 years old but I haven't the faintest idea what happened to it. My mother certainly threw it out years and years ago.
