Such a cute little guy! That's one of my least favorite dog traits, though. They love the nice cool soil of a flower bed, so curl up there. It not only crushes the plants, but bakes them with the heat of the cute little dog bod.

I have no idea why he did but yesterday he was giving his face a good rub round the Camellia!

Hmmmmmmm. Do you suppose another dog has visited the Camellia & left some interesting scent?

Dogs seem to have such a simple life, but I bet they have all sorts of weird phobias and irrational fears.

I see this at the bottom of my last post. Never seen it before, I wonder what it means?
Well, I deleted that link. I see that a totally unrelated and unknown link comes up each time an attachment is posted on here.

Looks like he might like to bite somebody! (but too small to hurt somebody very much)

He likes to bite okay. I'm hoping he will grow out of it!

This is Jasmyne before she retired to her penthouse. She has allowed me to take some pics of it ...to follow.

She is very pretty, Questa. Does she ever let you pet her or interact with her in any way?

[a href="http:// "]link[/a] This is Marley, half Jack Russell, quarter chihuahua and the rest corgi. Her long back and colour is corgi, her fine bones and ballerina feet from the chi, and her strong, pig-headedness, bouncing off the walls energy, constant worried look and utter devotion to me are JR traits. Rescued from a puppy farm where she had been maltreated. We give each other lots of love.

She is very pretty, Questa. Does she ever let you pet her or interact with her in any way? She will stand near her grass plant to let me brush and comb her and I can stroke her with one hand. If she sees 2 hands near her she knows I can grab her and drag her out. She prefers to come and nuzzle me when I lean into her feeding level. She stands leaning out and can see me move around down the hall. We 'talk' to each other and she runs and jumps in her active times.

Marley is beyond precious! What a soulful, sweet face. She seems to have gotten all the best of all those bits of ancestry. Jasmyne seems like the perfect non-clingy pet!

They are both lovely and so good of you to have taken animals that have been ill-treated.
A friend in another city took in a beautiful dog and what turned out to be an equally beautiful cat under a tangled mess, and it was very hard due to the horrible lives they had endured. She loved them so. Alas both are dead now; I guess their prior lives took a toll despite finding themselves in the lap of luxury chez a successful professional who gave them much love and the best of everything. Both had those silver coats tipped with black or grey.

Proof positive that dogs believe that humans will not suddenly slaughter them in their sleep! The former wolves have been tamed for good. ! !

There was a poll in France about the favourite dogs in the country. This of course does not at all mean that they are the most common dogs.
1. Australian shepherd 2. Belgian shepherd 3. Staffordshire bull terrier
German shepherds and golden retrievers are actually the most common dogs. Clearly the majority of dog owners in France live somewhere with a lot more space than in the cities.

I didn't know what an Australian shepherd looked like so I looked it up. Rather ugly with those patchy colours. I don't think I have ever seen one. Then I looked up Belgian Shepherd and don't believe I have ever seen one of those either.
I think many people just have mutts. In my street there are two dogs: one hunting dog (brown and white pointer type) and the other is a stupid, yappy little Yorkshire terrier.

This is my new boy - completely different to Dart who I could never try to replace. He had had a rough start at his birth after his mother died and again in the few months before I got him ( aged 6 years) as he'd been passed through 3 homes in as many months. Meet Mackinlie of Cairnargat (Mac) As his name suggests he is part highland pony. As a foal And now . He has changed colour completely - eventually I guess he will white out completely but for now I can enjoy his dapples. He is a brave lad, very cheeky but we are building our bond.
