When you gotta go, you gotta go, but even I have done better than that. Not on camera, of course.

Pretty kitties, ParisTraveler, and they seem to have such different personalities. Does Brokie always want to do whatever you're doing? Chico seems a lot more, how shall we say -- relaxed? ;D Would you have any objection to being addressed by a shortened version of your handle? The first thing that comes to mind is a name you'd share with................................ "PT" seems too breezy and not feminine enough, maybe because it could also be one of these.....................................

bixa, isn't the dog-person in you offended by Ms Hilton's use or abuse of small dogs as fashion accessories for handbags?

Paris Traveler, I am reminded of my brother and sister in law's 3 cats, who are so totally different. One is a big tom, obviously the boss. The others almost never challenge him. One is a very elegant prima donna who is always posing, and the third one is a skittish wild one, the only one capable of catching mice or of suddenly attacking your foot.

By the way, I kinda like her. She's just so famous for, well, being famous I have to admire her outrageous chutzpah! I also think she might be smarter than she would ever let on. I know, I know!! ( Please don't kick me outta the APIAS club!)And, yes, bixa, you and k2 really nailed the cats' personalities. Brokie always seems to end up near me wherever I am and Chico is just a snarky little dude who loves to get into stuff in my bedroom and rummage around when I am trying to snooze late into the cold mornings, toastily cocooned into my flannel sheets. Brokie is always doing something with one of her arms/paws like wrapping it around my arm and laying her head against it and "hugging" it when she is snuggled against me and she also likes to sit next to my keyboard and lick the side of my eye up into the hairline! She had been in a chaotic animal shelter for over three years when I picked her out of all the rest and she just seems so grateful to me for that. The love and contentment just shines from her eyes. Yes, k2, Brokie is the posing little prima donna!!

Free the Chihuahuas! Hee hee LaGatta ~~ when you consider that their historical use was as food, they're probably quite pleased to be clutched to cashmere bosoms and to wear little sweaters of their own. This article seems to back up my contention. "Free the chihuahuas" ~~ *snork!* You must see "Beverly Hills Chihuahua". It's a totally enjoyable fluff movie. Linguistic trivia: in Mexico a chihuahua is a chihuahuense. By the way, I kinda like her. She's just so famous for, well, being famous I have to admire her outrageous chutzpah! Oh, I know what you mean! After I saw her jail video it was impossible to dislike her. ( Please don't kick me outta the APIAS club!)As if!!!!! She had been in a chaotic animal shelter for over three years when I picked her out of all the rest and she just seems so grateful to me for that. The love and contentment just shines from her eyes. Her eyes do speak volumes!

Nice cats, ParisT. Mine are the same, everywhere were they shouldn't be. Thanks, deyana! Cats do have a way of choosing their own particular places, don't they? The weirdest thing Chico does is get up on my dresser and stick his nose right into a picture of me with my parents and sisters at my neice's wedding over 15 years ago. When he does that, I always say, "Chico's looking into the past again!" There are several pictures on that same wall that he could do the same thing to, but it's always that certain one.

I think cats are more intelligent then we give them credit for, ParisT. And they seem to have that 6th sense that for us is hard to understand.

I think cats are more intelligent then we give them credit for, ParisT. And they seem to have that 6th sense that for us is hard to understand. You are so right, deyana. I spend hours watching videos of the crazy silly and amazing things animals do and the things that people teach them to do and I am convinced they are so much smarter than we are, it's downright ridiculous!! I've seen so many tapes of animals busting the stereotypes that we silly humans have always held dear, e. g., that cats and dogs will always fight, that a cat will ALWAYS automatically eat a bird or a rodent etc., etc. and these tapes show all the different species getting along great and actually enjoying one another. My Chico was a kitten when I brought him home from the shelter and I was house and dog sitting at the time. He immediately imprinted on the elegant little Shelty I was caring for, and, of course, she was horrified at first, then she warmed up to him after a couple of days. Their scuffles quickly became playful, and it just warmed the cockles. I'm going to go see if I can find a pic I took of them hanging out together... You gotta love it!!

Hard to spot! Very cute dog, imec.
ParisT, yes cats and dogs can get along just fine, depending on how they are brought up. Some years ago I used to have a little guinea pig, I had her before I got my kittens and they grew up with her and I think they thought she was a kind of surrogate mom. They got along just fine, even ate out of the same bowl together at the same time.

Great picture, imec! I love how you have to search to find the dog. Very clever! Yes, deyana, I agree. One of my earliest childhood memories is the time when we either had a cat who nursed orphaned puppies, or we had a dog who nursed orphaned kittens. I was only about three years old, but it has stayed with me all this time. I absolutely love to watch videos showing birds and cats playing together, or cats and dogs having fun together, or a mouse or pet rat running all over a cat. So cute! Oh my gosh, I just remembered a video I had on my old computer showing a parrot reaching out its leg and PETTING a cat!!
Hmmm, I bet it's on youtube. I'll go look for it.
I especially love it when the parrot says "Hunh-uh" to the cat when it gets too close to the bird's feet.

So my cat has just started having her kittens. She got pregnant before I had a chance to get her done. So, now that will be once the kittens are weaned.
Anyway, she has just had the one so far. Will post some photos tomorrow. Hope it all goes well for her.

Oh Deyana, how exciting to have kittens in the house. How many cats do you have and how is that little kitty you rescued from the snow last year. Has she fitted in all right?
I love PT's pictures of her cats...my cat is usually to be found on my bed as well....
This week I've been offered a Jack Russell puppy from a litter of eight.. I shall go and look at them. I know, of course, that a dog would tie me down too much.

Sorry, Spinny, I've only just seen your post. How many cats do I have now? Too many. I've already made arrangement to have the girl spayed, looks like I have to wait until the babies are at least 8 weeks old in order to go ahead. The little family are doing really well, here's pic I just took. I am able to pick them up once in a while now, to change the bedding etc. but I try not to disturb them too often as they are still so young. Jack Russell's are lovely little dogs aren't they? Are you tempted to take one?
