I thought I was seeing things when I saw a response in here!!(coupled with the fact that your name begins with a C and ends with an A,really threw me off!)
Yes,Arizona and Florida are warm(generally),therefore, perfect for training.
Yes,you should do more often.!!! I have a friend in NY who goes down to Florida to watch. That would be pushing it for me,but she loves.

LOL!
I will definitely go to more Spring Training games. They almost remind me of the AA or AAA games we used to take the kids to when they were small (and we lived in a city with no MLB team). Those games were a lot of fun too and far more affordable, especially for a family.

I tend to "support" the Tigers and the Giants as these are two of the teams where I have watched MLB in the flesh. I also went to the old Yankee Stadium in 05 but couldn't really ever bring myself to support that lot! As discussed last season it tends to be the bloody Braves that dominate the version of ESPN that we get here... a team that I dislike for no obvious reason other than that Greg Maddox was ugly!!! Hey that's what sports is all about, right? I have not yet looked at the TV scedule but will hopefully be able to watch a season opener at some stage on Monday, something that I have not managed in the past. Likelihood of managing to attend a game this year is virtually nil.

Season opener is Sunday, the 4th,this Sunday Iain. (series between the Boston Red Sox and the NY Yankees).4/4-4/7 in Boston. I somehow remember you were not a Yankee fan. (Thank God! ). We, also, only get the Braves and the Houston Astros on TV here for a good part of the season, makes me crazy!!(a regional thing but, everyone I talk to hates as well). Cristina,I will be pulling for your guys with the hopes of seeing you and Boston in October! (I am so thrilled that I will hopefully not be posting in here solo this season!)

Boston beat the damn Yankees last night, opening game of the season, 9-7,after they rallied in the 7th inning. Was looking awfully grim up until then, but, great offense, and to quote someone this morning,Boston was "scrappy"(love that description! ). An indeed they were. Great start to a very long season. Am very happy about this!

You're not alone Casimira! Although I've been a little distracted by basketball lately. The Suns will be in the playoffs now, but they played badly last night and lost to Oklahoma. The Dbacks are 3-1 so far and last night Chris Young hit a grand slam in the game against Pittsburgh. Last night and tonight's game are not televised here so I have to rely on the news after the fact.

Casimira, its a good thing its a long season because the Diamondbacks are off to an inauspicious start at 5-6. So to ease my pain, I have turned all of my attention to Hockey and Basketball for the moment. Phoenix is in the playoffs for both off those sports and that is giving me some reason to cheer. Especially for the Suns. The DBacks finish their series against San Diego this afternoon and I am not optimistic. We lost the first two games (yesterday's score was 5-0 ) And Ian Kennedy is starting again today. He sucked last week against the Dodgers. Actually all 3 games today will be on TV today and if I wanted, I could plant myself in a chair at noon for the Coyotes-Red Wings game, followed by the Dbacks-Padres game at 4pm and the Suns-Portland game at 7:30pm. However I do not have sufficient attention span so will likely tune in now and then between other activities.

Well, I have given up on the Diamondbacks for the season. Their loss last night shouldn't have happened (ahead by 2 at the top of the 9th? C'mon!). And tonight is a massacre. Granted, this weeks' series is against the Cardinals who are really damn good. But we have just wasted our time and energy. And had a consistent number of errors. I might have to find another team to support.

So, as I type the D-backs are beating the Mets (begrudgingly, I will admit they are a very good team). We might actually beat them tonight. Top of the 8th inning and it is 11-1. We could still lose, truthfully (but I prefer to doubt it).
But can we beat them again tomorrow?

I come from a long line of Cardinals fans, but the last team I really loved was the one that had Willie McGee and Ozzie Smith.
Since the greedy billionaires bought the Cards and the taxpayers built them a new stadium, I've had a harder time getting into it.
The local daily paper lately is full of advice for the owners and La Russa.

I lived in Saint Louis during a pretty good reign for the Cards,we went to the stadium quite often and would sit in the bleachers which at that time,(I am dating myself here big time...) cost only $1.00 US!! They even let you bring in your own beer, which of course, was unheard of,especially since the beer we brought in was Stag Beer, not an Anheuser Busch made brew!!! Anyway,I'm glad the Cards are having a good year,it brings back fond memories, and I love that we (Boston) may have another shot at beating them again in a World Series!!! Bosox are in 4th place, and,as we know,'tis a long season.... So sorry about your team Cristina...

My first ever live attendance at a baseball game was a World Series game in another decade. My nosebleed seat was $5. But I saw Reggie and Goose in action. And I was there for the game that won the series. Off course I was really, really quite young back then. A child, when you think about it. Back to reality, the Dbacks just beat the Mets in their second game. Can we win this little series? Maybe our mid-season management shift is starting to bear fruit?

Mets are pond scum. I only know this from having moved to St. Louis.

And who cares who won. You were at a baseball game at Wrigley Field! It won't be long before you can say "I remember seeing a game at Wrigley Field.... " The best baseball field in America. An historic ballpark which I hope can be preserved as a ballpark. In the meantime, the Diamondbacks still suck this season. I'm moving on to football, I think. I don't even like football, but basketball hasn't started yet.
