You all are so kind and encouraging -- thanks! No, it's the same camera, but I've been experimenting with how to get better results.

I just remembered that I saw a big spider in my bathtub this morning. I wonder if it is still there.

Sensational as usual! One wants to pet their soft fur. I'm not sure if they would like that.

These are two wonderful photos!
I love the way that you have to concentrate for a moment in order to see the bee in the passion flower. Then, the wavy corona makes the picture look alive, with a vibrating bee working the flower.
The wasp is so perfectly posed and color-coordinated with the marigold! How can anyone look at that picture and not be seduced by the beauty of that "scary" insect?

This wasp was hunting hoverflies...they tumbled to the ground but the wasp won the battle and flew off with it's victim...eek I snapped it whilst it paused for a breather on this ricinus leaf...

Well snapped!! What a lucky shot Cheery - I have never heard of a 'hoverfly' . Is it a domestic pest or just another garden insect?

Thanks, Cheery & NYCGirl. I think those are two different bees -- one in the first pic, then the same one in the last two. The jícama vine with its blue flowers attracts those big black bees. There is a *Aeoneum on that same wall that they sometimes use for resting, to give an idea of scale. They're easily an inch long.
*Aeonium arboreum var atropurpureum 'Schwarzkopf'

But she's really small! There are three of those girls in my yard that I know of. They've all put their webs in my way, although they probably feel the same way about me. I'd forgotten I had these photos, taken at the beginning of July ~~
