I loved my trips on the Tonle Sap, but I can never forget how things were in such places just 35 years ago.

T63, I remember there were several lovely days of sunsets back then -- but I did not have my inferior camera at hand anyway.

Incredible pictures, HW. You really captured that golden late afternoon light in the first one. That's hard to do! They're all so peacefully rich, but that last one totally captured me.
Boy, if there were one picture that could work for any number of dramatizations of Paris, from "A Tale of Two Cities" to "The Phantom of the Opera" to "The Murders in the Rue Morgue", it would be that fantastic and beautiful photograph of yours T-63!

I'm impressed by pics taken in last light like T63's. I just can't get them without a tripod.
Did your husband take it hand- held, T63?

hwinpp:
The picture was taken with a 17-40 Wide Angle F4L Canon lens on shutter priority, not image stabilized, F4 at 1/25. It was taken holding it out a window. The camera is a Canon XSI. Yes, it was handheld.

This was the sky in the street of my mother's nursing home tonight. Normally it is already dark, but I abandoned the office 40 minutes early, so this is what I saw today.

Very nice K2, the pinks are so vivid. I love the photo. Is that a church in the photo. It looks like Sacre Cour to me?

Yes, it is Sacré Coeur, seen from the African neighborhood.

I was coming home from downtown this evening, crammed into the back of a jouncing colectivo driven by heavy-on-the brakes driver. I glanced out the window and knew I had to at least try to capture the sky. It started quietly, then flared into magnficence:

Didn't know exactly where to put this so I chose sunsets. Tucson, 11/28/09 with clouds and moon. Taken with my I Phone.

I actually said "ahhhhhhh!" out loud when I saw that, Traveler. That's a classic sky for your area, isn't it?

Bixa and Imec:
Yes, Bixa very typical for this time of year and the sunsets are generally great all year long.
Imec, the I Phone is awesome. Pictures are good, it doesn't have a flash but there are free apps you can download for that. I can be on the phone and still surf the next if someone wants something. There are apps for everything!!!! I have great ones for Paris. I can use an app for restaurants that will let me make a reservation, the app will find the closest restaurant to me, show me how to get there and I can make the reservation. It was great in Paris, because I could find my way back to the apartment, it would draw the walking route, car route, etc.

Sounds like the cat's ass! If it would work with my employer's email system I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'll likely have to settle for the new version of the BlackBerry Storm .

The sky was pretty magnificent this evening, but I've taken so many sunset pictures. But as I walked out to admire it yet again, I couldn't resist this:

Gorgeous shots I.,the last one of the house appears as though the house it self was on fire. It reminds me so much of a house from my childhood,a very old house where an old woman lived alone.I could see it from my bedroom window and at sunset with the light just right,it gave off this same appearance. I really need to get out with the camera this time of day more often.

Really beautiful, Imec. Also, they really have a "prairies" feel to them.
I was wondering if some passing motorist didn't quickly dial the fire department for the noitcelfer!

Ha! It does look like that doesn't it. I parked the van facing the sunset and got out myself and nearly froze my ears solid while I shot for about 10 minutes (the time it takes for frostbite to set in with the windchill at that time). The others in the car couldn't see the house and were surprised when I showed them the pic.
