I'd love it if you identify your bodies of water when you post these gorgeous photos. Then I could add them to my list of places to go to...

Mine is Kotor in Montenegro. The body of water is the called the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska) and is considered the southernmost fjord in Europe.

Interesting to note the similar subjects in #65 and #66, but rikita's is much sharper-edged (higher contrast?) and bjd's is much softer-edged...

Rikita has a better camera than I do. It is seeing her photos on here, as well as others taken with an SLR, that makes me think of buying one. On the downside, since most of the pics I take are when I go somewhere, I hate to think of carrying around a heavier, more valuable camera.

bjd, my comment in #71 did NOT mean that I thought your image was inferior to rikita's.
I rather LIKE the more natural look of your image. The intensity of sharp edges can look manipulated, particularly when the scene is foggy and your brain tells you that there shouldn't be anything looking that crisp.
That said, rikita's images are always striking. Arresting, you might say. Both are beautiful. Don't feel like you have to go out and buy a "better" camera. Yours does just fine. And is portable enough that it will always be on hand to capture the scene.

Here's my take on a similar subject (orange roofs and blue water), also taken with a point-and-shoot digital camera:

What an absolutely gorgeous, dream-like picture, Bjd! It makes me feel as though I'm flying. The delicate color range and the composition are deeply satisfying.

Thanks good people. The Atlantic was quite churned up that day. This is one of the very first pictures taken with my new camera. I shot quite a few that day. The color of the water in the cold winter's light was simply gorgeous and the waves and action of the sea quite foreboding, and yes, commanding deep respect and fear.

I was struck by how the colors in the first photo in FMT's #84 match his avatar photo's color scheme...
