I never saw the frog as cute, Riky! He has a certain something about him though. He's long gone now.

Wonderful group of pictures, Dahuffy. I have seen flying fish and leaping dolphins, but was never privileged to see stingrays jumping like that.
The pelican picture is a fabulous photograph, with those reflections on the water mirrored by the pattern of the feathers.

Just found another little frog outside, took a picutre and then released it, will post the photo another day. The other day however, I went into the shed and what did I see? I was shocked to see this bee-hive! As you know I have a BIG phobia about bees and wasps. Anyway I managed to stay in the doorway long enough to take these photos. A bit more of a close up:

Best get rid of it before late summer when they get angry as their food sources decline.
Unless you don't need to go in that shed at all until winter!

Oh I will need to go into that shed many times.
I do have to get rid of it though. Just been in contact with the hardware store, looks like they have special wasp terminating kits. I will try that out, hope it works.

I will do, dahuffy! I'll get the terminating kit tomorrow. The locals tell me it works well. The only other time we had a wasp invasion was back in the UK. They made a nest just outside of my son's bedroom and somehow they started coming in through the floorboards and invaded my son's room! In England though, you just call the 'Council' and they send an exterminator and get rid of them.

Ducks make such good models to photograph.
The wasp nest got terminated yesterday, I'll have to get someone to pack it up for me and remove it now. I can't do it myself, even if the wasps are dead, I still don't want to see them.
hmm...just thought, I should have put the wasp story in the insects and crawly things thread. Oh well.

I love the clever froggy and how he's positioned to eat whatever is chomping the hibiscus.
And I see you have your ducks in a row!
Rikita, I just marvel at your waterfowl pictures!

That's a cute frog. In Mississippi, I could find one hiding in the folds of just about every iris.

*plotzes!*
Incredible photograph, Rikita! That feather definition on the top wing and the elegantly shaded swooop of the other one would be outstanding anyway, but with that steely blue water as a backdrop to the tawny bird, it's beyond outstanding.

thanks... yeah i was quite glad i got that one, because the other time all the sea gulls were misbehaving - not flying where i pointed my camera, or where the background wasn't nice - but this one finally took mercy on me...

This guy's been feeding on a dead deer (and its fawn ) in our yard lately. (We've also had raccoons on our deck, a mom and 4 little ones, but they come in the dark and scatter when the lights come on, so no photos.)

A fawn? Oh that's sad. How close can you get to the bear with startling it, Kimby?

That one looks like a big nest. The one that was in my shed is gone now. I have a pictures of the demolished nest, which I'll post at some time. But I've found that there is another smaller one just inside the door. I have to get that one done too now...

Zapped the other wasp nest last night. I can see a bunch of dead wasps on the floor underneath it today. Here's the old nest, ready to be burned:
