Ohhhh -- gorgeous, Imec! You really captured the sense of humidity in the air and the actual arch of the rainbow. Here are a couple I took from the roof of my other house. I think the first one is better, but you can see in the second one that it's a double rainbow.

And you really captured the colours - beautiful!

I took this when I arrived back at Heathrow from Japan several years ago.

As I was trying to capture the cloud shadows on the mountains, I realized there was a rainbow out there. It wasn't until I unloaded the pictures that I realized ... of course, it's St. Patrick's day! There really does seem to be a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow.

Interesting study - two very different images (both very good) of the same subject.

That last shot just knocks me out! And it's a double rainbow.

It was a bright double rainbow too, but the camera just refused to capture it the way it looked to the eye.

"not as cool a photo"?
I beg to differ!

i also think it is in a way even cooler than the other photo... it depends on what you are after, the first one has great lights and clouds - but the second one looks nicer to me composition-wise, and the rainbow (the inner one) is much brighter...

The best rainbow picture I never took exists only in my mind: A complete arc stretching above the golden hillsides north of town, with one end planted on the spire of St. Francis catholic church and the other end leading to the letter L on the hillside, referring to Loyola Sacred Heart parochial school. (I always thought that if I'd gotten that shot, they could have sold them as a fund-raiser for their schools, it was that striking and iconic.)

Here's a rainbow right over the French entrance to the Eurotunnel. Since so many refugees think that a pot of gold awaits them in England, I think it is extremely appropriate.
