Eerily beautiful. Speaks to the resilience of the human spirit. How many people of the younger generation I wonder, even know anything ,of what happened there 23 years ago? I thought I could see it in the old woman's eyes.

Whenever you see "embedding disabled", simply double-click on the video and it will open in a new window on YouTube. Sometimes it says "watch on YouTube", so no need for double-clicking.
It's a moot point for me, as when I get the YouTube page for that particular video, I'm told it's not available in my country.

This is the music video of the year in the French music awards, which is a pretty reliable indication of how totally different the music is (and visuals are) in different countries.

Even though my own cultural references do not enable to fully appreciate this kind of song, I am very happy to see that the 'Arab Idol' show has not completely capitulated to insipid international pop, as evidenced by this year's Syrian winner (who was in the news because he refused to wave the Syrian flag, not because everything thought the song was fabulous).

I see that alternative music tends to disappear from YouTube over the years. However, I will persist and say that I still like the Argentinian group El Remolon which I discovered at an event at the CentQuatre a few years ago.
