I thought (wrongly) one of the uses was going to be as an alternative to toilet paper. In Grand Teton NP when we got our canoe camping permit for Leigh Lake they told us to pack out our tissue, or to use a rock instead of tissue.
A rock? Eggshells might be preferable!

No, actually rocks are on the official list of emergency wiping tools. Rounded ones with just enough roughness should do the trick.
