No boats passing that day -- and no breeze either. In a day or two, the sprinkles of ash might disturb the water.

That shot of the canal in Amiens is reminiscent of the Nyhavn in Copenhagen.

It also looks exactly like the old Singapore harbor to me.

Singapore? That's not at all what I'd expect to find in Singapore!

Imec, I thought I was immune to water shots such as yours, having been exposed to so many of them on La. calendars, etc., but your photo is truly exceptional. It's so crisp and serene, and the colors are so delicately varied. Thanks bixa! It reminded me of a giant elephant's foot.

Every time I visit this thread I leave with my jaw open. The photos here are wonderful examples of the great "eye" so many posters on Anyport have. I always feel challenged by a) few opportunities for water reflections here in the desert and b) the blinding sun, which I am not really confident in dealing with on my camera, when it comes to other reflective opportunities (assuming I have my actual camera, rather than my cell phone.) I'm not whining though. I am happy to live vicariously through all of your splendid images.

GreyGhost, your photo at #140, is delightful. Did you go in and buy that clock?

No, I didn't, the stuff inside looked very upsacle decorator although you really can't see that with the reflection of the building.

Many people think Forum des halles is ugly. I took these shots in the early morning light and I think the reflections make it look rather stunning.

Well, those buildings are being torn down next year, so you will never see them again.

Ugly?! GreyGhost, I love the way the swoop of the glassed arch in the first photo of #154 echoes the art nouveau architecture of Paris. Then, the boxy shape of the bottom one, along with its column, opaque panels, and bowed 2nd story announces a fun 1950s movies sensibility.
Why are they being torn down, Kerouac?

They are being torn down because everybody things they are horribly ugly. Those are the buildings that replaced the Baltard pavilions of Les Halles.
For a vision of the future, you will need to Google "David Mangin Les Halles" because it is his project that won the bid for the new construction.
My own preference was for the Rem Koolhaas project (also preferred by the mayor of Paris, but he gave in to public opinion).
