I had the very great pleasure of seeing this band for my 5th time on Wednesday night at Massey Hall in Toronto. They played a couple of songs which I had not heard them play live before including "How to Fight Loneliness" which I never knew was used in the soundtrack for Girl Interrupted. Do yourself a favor and get to know this band which I am convinced is the best U.S. band alive.

Good band and good gimmick - but best in U.S., not even close. The whole punk movement made the statement (long ago) that songwriting and musicianship weren't everything (and Jeff Tweedy from Wilco was a part of that scene). Good sense and balance though eventually prevailed and most people agree that great musicianship and really good songwriting are essential if you want to be relevant over a longer period of time.
Discuss ;D

There was much talk about the importance of going to a Wilco concert in the movie "Funny People."

Finally was able to have a good listening to I. and thoroughly enjoyed. I knew I had heard them before and realized it was on one of our university radio stations. Best band in America? Can't say, don't know that much about the current music scene to concur or not. But.I will take your word for it. Who would you say they remind you of the most from earlier times? I just can't put my finger on it. Seems my company likes Wilco too,but not at 4:30 a.m.! Actually, they only heard like 10 seconds before I realized that the volume level was a little too high.
