They all look good but that mackerel - yum I had not heard of glasswort but recognised it by the pic and yes it is what I know as samphire. What I did not realise that it was used to make glass

Yes, that was a surprise to me as well when I looked up the English language name.

I knew it as samphire as well, in English, and salicorne in French. It was popular in the Netherlands when I was last there.

My sister and her husband came for Sunday dinner...roast leg of lamb with mint jelly, roast taters, sage and onion stuffing, honey glazed carrots, cauliflower with a cheese sauce, brussel sprouts, peas and gravy. I made a white chocolate and strawberry tart...it was amaaaaaaaazing and my sister has pinched the recipe

Cheery that all sounds delicious! (Although I have never had lamb)
We had Sunday dinner at my in-laws. Deep fried chicken, fries, Caesar salad, coleslaw, some boiled vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. Ice cream cone for dessert.

a slice of sunflower seed bread with mortadella, and a piece of swedish crisp bread with cottage cheese and graved salmon, and a few yellow plums and a fig.

That sounds delicious. So glad my baker friend is keeping us in good rye and other whole-grain breads. I love the open sandwiches eaten in Germany, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries. My friend has made sunflower seed and pumpkin seed breads!

I baked some chicken wings in sauce -- Luxembourgian barbecue sauce, Cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, nuoc mam, Filipino soy sauce, Italian herbs, English steak grilling herbs -- Okay I'll admit it. I was trying to get rid of all sorts of things in my herb and sauce cupboard. Any, the result was just fine.

My friend has made sunflower seed and pumpkin seed breads! Oh my Lagatta, I am envious, I would love to try either, even though I have mostly given up bread! We lack a decent bakery anywhere around here.

Rikita, yes, those are very good.
I copied K2 a bit, but was lazy and bought a whole fillet of tilapia, not the whole fish. Quite happy with my choice. Made something vaguely southeast Asian with coconut cream and Panang curry sauce, as well as (obviously) a bit of fish sauce, red onions, a bit of garlic. With the curry sauce, I didn't have to add too much. I also had some leftover mushrooms al ajillo (thus enough garlic) which I was happy to repurpose. I cooked all this in my little countertop convection oven in an enamelled cast-iron oval pan; an old one from Belgium (what is the precise name for those things?)And added some of my balcony Thai basil at the very end. The fillet was 300g, I think this will make me three meals. You can serve over rice or various types of Asian noodles, or simply mop up the sauce with some crusty bread.

Beef tacos tonight. I tried fish tacos this past weekend for the first time and really enjoyed them!

I love fish tacos. Much lighter and just as high in protein. Fine if you can get some non-breaded frozen fish.

I cooked a sea bream (dorade) fillet in butter and ate it with carrots to keep it all as simple as possible.

I made minestrone. Was careful not to make too much, but two friends are getting portions. My big basil is starting to yellow in parts, so that is a sign that it needs a serious haircut. I hope some of it will live through September. Basil is the first herb to go.
I didn't add any pasta or rice, but obviously those can be added afterwards.

again a weird mixture of things - fried tofu, celery, and green peas, fried mashed potatoes (leftover from yesterday), and a half-fried half-scrambled egg ...

I assume I'll be having beans this evening, since that is what is cooking away on the stove right now.

Obviously there are beans in my minestrone. White cannellini beans, but I cooked them day before yesterday.

baked hokkaido pumpkin (cut in little stripes, mixed with oil, a bit too much oil in fact, and with some cinnamon, cumin and coriander, and salt, but salt doesn't start with a c.) eaten with some yoghurt and some sour cream ...

A Marks and Spencers readymeal. Sausages in onion gravy with mashed potato in little black plastic trays served on elegant porcelain plates. I always pack a few M&S meals when we go self catering...saves time. The owner of the cottage we're staying in left us a bottle of a decent white wine so we're having that too...
