I'm sorry, but this ad cracks me up every time I see it. imageshack.com/a/img839/5355/eotw.jpgIt is 100% true, but it does not give the slightest hint about how people have to bust their butt to try to keep a forum going reasonably well.

But anime characters have the energy and superpowers, K, to keep a forum going!

No, it doesn't begin to describe what it takes! I often sit here thinking, my goodness, I can see the tremendous input that is so evident on AnyPort! A valid comment, a wonderful photo, a new thread......never stops and gets us coming back for more!

What also keeps anyport going is the feedback we get from other members when we post. For me it is the questions that make me see my travels (for instance)in a different light, make me think or go looking for the answers when people ask me about my photos. I also appreciate constructive criticism or suggestions on how to do things to get a better result. I thank all the members who acknowledge the time and effort it takes to set up a presentation for the forum.

Same with me -- the questions I get about my pictures are often about details that I completely overlooked at the time. Now if only there were someone to hold our arms and make us hold the camera straight. Photobucket used to have a function for straightening pictures, but the eliminated it.

Starting a forum is no damned picnic, despite what the ugly cartoon characters say! Now if only there were someone to hold our arms and make us hold the camera straight. Photobucket used to have a function for straightening pictures, but the eliminated it. Photobucket is fiddly garbage. Using it to edit pictures is tantamount to building yourself a shelter using toothpicks, rather than living in a nice house you already own. As for completely straight pictures -- some new cameras have built-in straightening features, but even so, tweaking the picture ourselves is often desirable. No matter how steady you hold your arms, the camera is moved slightly downward when the button is pressed -- that's why most photos lean to the right, the side the button is on. Once again, I sing the praises of Photoscape. I've been using it for almost four years and do not have a single complaint against it. In fact, it's the only editor I use. Check out this thread, specifically Reply #19 on straightening: anyportinastorm.proboards.com/thread/4417/photo-editors-photoscape

I don't get ads anywhere because I use AdBlocker.

Apparently, I'm supposed to purchase a mattress today, since it is Presidents' Day in the US.
Why mattresses and Presidents' Day go together is a mystery to me.

I have AARP at the top of my screen, which is very odd since I usually have French ads.

I know that the various ads appear at random on these sites, but I found this particularly inappropriate on the Daily Mail site.
