I have always despised French national treasure Johnny Hallyday, but one thing I hate the most is this "love" song that sounds more like an accusation. I hate it almost as much as I hate his sweat glands.

Bumping this up in honor of the day. Nothing comes immediately but, I'm sure something will before days end.

I find "You Light Up My Life" fairly annoying.

"fairly annoying"?
Is that the same thing as projectile vomit-inducing?

I can't abide Céline Dion or her sleazy husband/Svengali René Angelil. (Lots of people here share that sentiment).
Bixa, no annoying Mexican songs?

Ohhhhhh yeah, LaGatta! In fact, as soon as I read your post one popped into my head. I do like Jose Jose's voice & often recommend that people learning Spanish use his songs to improve their listening skills. But the syrupiness of this one, & more so the lyrics, will have you grinding your teeth down to nubs:

I am imagining ole' Silvio Berlusconi crooning that to Ruby Rubacuore.
But every time Silvio proclaimed he was 40, people would break out laughing. And Ruby had to add a few years to make herself legal.
You are right; he has excellent elocution and for that reason would be great for Spanish learning. But such over-the-top schlock!!!

I hate it almost as much as I hate his sweat glands. I was perusing this thread this morning and out of curiosity because of his recent passing had a listen to this song. I am so sorry I did...

"Some where, my love." Theme from Dr Zhivago. a cross between a dirge and a piano exercise. Only good for bringing back memories of scenes from the film. Yet it won an Oscar!

Your Ash Wednesday penance. I suppose... I was chastised on Mardi Gras by some religious fanatics in front of St. Louis Cathedral for being "immodest, blasphemy, and fornification" of which I asked him if he knew how to spell that word and was told I was "going straight to hell". 24 hours later, he was a tad off the mark.

Going through the posts in this thread. Early this a.m. I went outside and heard music coming from a car parked nearby. It was blasting that Celine Dion song mentioned earlier on in the thread. I won't post it because I don't want to inflict my fellow posters with a god awful earworm. (despite the fact that I am suffering from one).

I used to like this song the first couple of times I heard it but then it just began to irritate me and now I can't stand it! "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban

For me the most annoying us 'Last Christmas', that also doubles its score as the most annoying Xmas song.

I'm with you Whatagain...
I used to listen to the chart music on the radio all the time and we had a weekly TV show called Top of the Pops which played the latest 'hits' (gawd I sound old! )...but nowadays I only listen to Classic FM, BBC radio 4 or the BBC World Service (if I'm awake in the night and can't sleep)...so no new irritating pop songs enter my life.
