Oh, I like the bike, Dahuffy! Another nice pic, Rikita, and gives new meaning to "hanging by a thread".

I wasn't precisely sure where to post this one. I should also add that it is not my photo. I lifted it off my son's Facebook page. He took this picture today on Camelback Mountain, where he had taken a hike with his dog, 99 (in the foreground).
I love the blue cast over the city below.

Bixa, I will happily move it, however I need some direction as to where. I really don't want to put it in pictures of our pets, because that wasn't what I was trying to highlight.
p.s. since I gave birth to him, everything he does is mine ;D

Well, except when he screws up, right? ;D Yes, I absolutely see your point about it photographically being more than just a pet portrait. You know what would be absolutely wonderful? What if you started a thread on Phoenix either in the United States board or in Post Cards? You have shown some wonderful pictures of your area, and I know everyone would love to see more. If you made a thread like that -- as short or long as you wish right now -- you'd have a place to showcase any Phoenix photos as time and opportunity allowed. If you don't have enough pics of your own to start, go ravage your son's fb page! Waddaya think?

I will try to come up with a coherent photo-something and start a thread. I'm warning you though, it will probably just end up looking like "Cristina's random photos without a theme."

What a contrast in seasons and mood between those two pictures -- a chilly winter etching and a golden dream of summer.

Kerouac - that twig nest must belong to a fairly big bird like our kites. They are hopeless nest builders in my opinion and I am surprised that their chicks don't plummet earthwards Lovely photo!! FrenchMT - that is a wonderful photograph of you on your bike! You are absolutely right Bixa! The colours in your photo are gorgeous giving the dark shadows of the palms a soothing cool feel to the entire scene

I love this photo [the second photo in #72]. The tension between the blue of the sky, the foreground building and the next building down the street is perfect. Also the ochre trim is almost perfectly complimentary to the purplish blue building in the background. Color compliments never go unnoticed by the eye but can be a bit dazzling if too prominent. These aren't.
<edit to add...> I forgot to mention the palm shadows!

Thanks tod2, although I am of two minds - there's an undeniable repulsion to trash in the pretty white snow - seems to emphasize its ugliness.
