I have always liked marginal singers who play uncommon instruments.

Stromae did something else dark and wonderful with his (anti) twitter take on Carmen:

How did I miss this? Wilko Johnson and Roger Daltrey playing classical R&B, not the wishy washy stuff called R&B now. The whole CD is an absolute joy.

I'm never sure what constitutes "new" but here goes on the lighter side:
George Ezra and Guest, in roundabout honor of my younger girl landing in Budapest today:
and local boy Pokey LaFarge. The girl is his actual sweetie. Authentic local yard decor. The mother's makeup is maybe a little exaggerated. Our neighbor parked his El Camino in front of our house for three months straight one year.

I like the Feloche one, K. Can't watch the driving part though.
Interesting Twitter commentary.

I'm never sure what I'll get away with here as "new", but let's try this from the Nolan Bros and their gorgeous chanteuse:
Bob hopes they'll be in Samois this summer. He also says I can look past the nose ring. I say, "No, I can't."

This morning I was awoken before sunrise with my grandsons playing and dancing to their now favourite new tune....Watch me Whip & Nae Nae - (taken over from Gangnam Style). Where do these entertainers dream up the words that besides being repetitive to the extreme, mean little in my English vocab! One GOOD thing from hits like this and Gangnam, is that it gets the kids moving in a type of excercise they enjoy. When I was five all I ever remember hearing played over and over by my parents was "In the Mood". We never tried to copy them dancing to it! So c'mon you lot..Let's do the Stanky leg!

I thought the music, as well as the gorgeous scenery, totally made the film Dans Les Fôrets de Sibérie. I've actually downloaded some of the music, though not the whole album.

Not new, but new to me, having just read that this is one of the songs on President Obama's summer playlist (nighttime). Translation here

I don't really know much about Ed Sheeran...as I don't tend to listen to music radio much. I caught this on the Graham Norton show last week and quite like it.

I fell in love with this song a few months ago, a reinterpretation of some disco-y thing, but done with incredible sensitivity and subtlety. Unlike lot of people on music competitions, he didn't try to blow everyone away with volume and riffs, but went for clarity and emotion. Bravo, Slimane. I bought your album.
