Beautiful.
So many other great ones, too.
Your NYC ones, Casimira, remind me of the first time I drove in the city, late on a Sunday night, headed from DC to Hartsdale. I had directions from an old native, who told me "go from Holland Tunnel across town to the FDR" and then a series of old highway names or nicknames that don't show up on exit signs. His mental map predated the interstate system by years.
It was fun finding my way across downtown and up the FDR, but less fun after that following my nose.

Thanks Lola! I still refer to highways and bridges by the names I became familiar with initially. It drives me crazy when they change the names. I don't have anything against RFK but,the Triboro Bridge seemed a perfectly fine name to me and also a cool description of a bridge that indeed connects 3 burroughs. They went through a major changing of thoroughfare names here in NOLA and my husband while working for EMS as a Paramedic would get so outdone because in many cases it was a matter of life and death trying to find someone lying there on a newly christened street. Great image btw of you Lola navigating your way in and around NYC! I love it~!!

On the way to the City yesterday, this is the not the main highway, but a side road if you like, sometimes you can drive miles without seeing another vehicle:

That's because we were passing a small settlement! Just for Mr. nitpicker:

Kerouac, your last photo of heading towards the Sierra Nevada is a stunning contrast, almost unreal. Askar, yet another glimpse of a world where few of us have visited. 'Good luck'. Were you entering or leaving? I've never seen this on a municipal public sign. Have you ever seen the film, Since Otar Left, set in Georgia, and later, Paris? I think it's excellent. attrition.org/movies/otar.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Since_Otar_Left

I was leaving Georgia. The Turkish border is about 200 m after the sign. You have a glimpse of the Black Sea on the right.
Yes, I have seen Since Otar Left. I liked it too.
