I'm not the only person who sometimes takes road pictures while driving, or stops to take a photo of the road. I thought that maybe we could start a thread of photos of the road. (These are bad ones on purpose, just so that no one will feel intimidated. )

Yeah, I'm not taking pictures while driving. Do like the 2nd one though.

Oh, with digital cameras, all you have to do is brace them over or under the steering wheel. It's not as though you were looking through the viewfinder (which is indeed the way I normally take pictures).

Wow, #2 is really beautiful.
Snapping pics while driving is probably less dangerous than trying to read the label on a tape or cd, or lighting a cigarette, or looking for the right sandwich in the cooler, or any number of other things we've all done while driving.

Here's one of the road in front of where we live:

Is it cleared regularly or is it a "non-priority" road?

It's cleared whenever there has been any snow. They start at the crack of dawn. They are little more lax on the weekends though, when this photo was taken. The highways are nearly always good, I'm quite impressed with the snow clearing system here actually.

That's good. I need to dig up some more road pictures to post.
My old computer may be fixed/replaced before the end of the month and that may unleash a floodgate of photos not yet seen.

I found two dead deer on this Highway the other day, so sad. I hate when I see injured or dead wildlife like that.

It's been the strangest weather here, K. A couple of days ago we had an ice storm, then yesterday a rain storm and today, rain and now it's snowing!

Kimby, it's interesting that Montana can look so like N.B. Here are a few photos I took on the road when in the City of Fredericton: Queen Street: Just outside the University:

They do go all over the road there don't they, Mark? Do you see a lot of accidents? I see that the signs are in English as well as Arabic, is that common over there?

Yes, I see a lot of accidents, especially on the faster roads where the damage is great enough the vehicle has to stay where it is. In the city there are numerous smaller accidents but the cars will just move on after sorting it out. On the major roads the signs are also in English, why I can't say for sure other than they are. Maybe because of them thinking there are a lot of non Arabic speakers here, but I can't really see the need for it as I'd say 99.9% can read Arabic and there aren't enough of the rest to make it worthwhile, but they put them up anyway.

Another iPhone photo, this time on the drive home. This is sunset north of Sacramento, CA. I-5 is in the distance.
