That's actually a pretty sound when the ice pieces clink together. You don't have to be there. I keep telling you to come visit Mexico and you keep saying you're a-gonna. Let me leave you with this thought: Three hundred sixty-five (365) growing days per year.

This is the same Agapanthus I showed in Reply #238. It has two nice flower heads forming, but it's taking its time opening ~

Agapanthus is one of my favourites.

This is my new Camellia just showing it's buds (I've mislaid the name). Not cheap - cost me £25 but I think it will be worth it when it flowers.

Thanks, Mick. I love that the flowers of Agapanthus are so long-lasting.
Is this around the regular flowering time for camellias in your area? Also, is that a special type adapted to pot culture?

Another month for Camellias.
Got the name now - Camellia rosthorniana "Cupido". I don't know if it was specially bred for pot culture but it's small size certainly lends itself.

It's a daintier, less rigid shape than I associate with camellias, too.

Oh my god, my hibiscus is going to bloom again this year. It has at least three buds on it.

The event is beginning. There are at least ten buds in preparation.

You must have been born with all green fingers. It always amazes me how herbs do so well in your window, and now this miracle!

I am now on my 4th hibiscus flower, and I can count at least eight more buds developing. This has never happened before.

After the 20 or so flowers last year, my indoor hibiscus is in bud again, with at least two flowers in the coming week.

How much sun do you get in that window??!!!

Frankly, the window faces north, so it never gets direct sunshine. But it does get lots of daylight.

I meant to ask what those are when I saw your pictures from the square. Does anyone know?

I thought you might know BJD. Am clueless.
(I don't think they are buds. Rather seeds from some recent blooms)

I can see how y'all could not identify the plant in #258, but the clue Kerouac gives in #261 should be a give-away.
That's a double-flowered pomegranate.

I thought the colour looked like pomegranates but all the ones I have seen here seem to have much smaller flowers. I just tried looking for some pictures but most seem to be for trees that give only flowers and no fruit. All those in gardens here give fruit.

Pomegranate did cross my mind, mainly because of that unmistakable color.
And, I was aware that there is an ornamental variety that doesn't bear fruit.
I think the close up of it threw me off.
Good call Bixa!

Pomegranate trees are only a distant childhood memory from California for me. There was one large and very bountiful tree in the alley just across the street from our house and all the neighborhood kids helped themselves. I had no idea there were ornamental varieties but it shouldn't surprise me.

Surely that's not in your kitchen window K. Where and what is it?
That hibiscus back in the early part of this page. Is that the one from your mother's room and you brought it home? May explain why it's doing so well.
