Rocket was one of the earliest steam locomotives (1829) and this is a working replica Kimby.

This is Evening Star, the last steam loco built (in the '60's) before Tornado. I thought this was a loco undergoing restoration but actuall it was a WWII "austerity" loco which was built with the minimum of steel. For everyb 40 locos built they could build 9 more with the steell that was saved.

The electric train looks a bit like the "Sprague-Thomson" metro trains that Paris used for more than 50 years.

They do look very similar K2 although my one was an overground train. I do vaguely recall it working out of Victoria station I think.

Never seen a Tintin Thalys before. The ones that cross my village are bordeaux coloured. The antique ones are pretty, too.

The Tintin Thalys might only go as far as Brussels. I think they have a six-month contract for the special advertising.

Here is a large scale model railway, but it runs a scheduled passenger service with one third scale engines A good tourist attraction as well as providing a local year round service, details here www.rhdr.org.uk/

Headed to Aw Taw Kaw farmer's market for lunch today. On the way, stopped by the old Bangsue train yard and caught some shots. The first two are simple boxcars. This third one is a "tank" car, in the sense of an armored vehicle. Finally, some of the old cars have been converted into little studio homes, forming the "Train Village".

Really stunning pics Curt. That one of a tank car looks as though someone could be living in it, it has those domesticated features about it, the potted plant...and what appears to be an altar. What can you tell us about it?
