Kerouac is BannerMan, and a fine, fine banner it is, too. (That thing is actually called a "news fader", which I always thought was a glum gray name for it, so henceforth banner it is -- thanks!)
Any Port opened with its testers on Groundhog's Day 2009, and threw the doors wide open two days later. So yes, it's one full year of what was envisioned as a lasting compendium of member-generated content that entertains and educates, to borrow HW's words again.

At the very least, a banner from "Banner Man". (I think he may have got too caught up in his "Burning Man" fascination to even bother with this mundane topic!). I did note with great nostalgia that this thread was started by HWINPP which makes it that much more poignant and bittersweet at the same time. (Oddly, I have had two dreams about Henning since his leaving us. Both odd, but beautiful in their own right. One incorporated he and another dear friend (Dusty, a very unique and most interesting person who I also miss very much). But, I digress...

Happy Anniversary Bixa and Kerouac and thank you. While searching a link on Fordor's I found a community of wonderful people from all corners of the earth. I am frequently awed by photos and stories.
Cheers!

No banner? No fireworks? Are we to mark this passing quietly if we are unable to dance in lush French fields of grass?

Well, since none of the rest of us could place the banner at the top of the home page, it's good that you got it done. While it represents a following here, in my mind it particularly stands for the steadfast way the two of you have built and kept this forum going. Thank you Bixa and Kerouac!

Remember, we have several days in which to celebrate this anniversary, since Anyport didn't officially open up for everyone until @the fifth, if memory serves.
But yeah ~~ it's great, isn't it?! Five years. Wow.

Thanks for all the kind salutes, but any forum is only as good as its members. Guess that's why Anyport is so great!

Many thanks Bixa and Kerouac, Anyport has been a lifesaver for me. It has turned me into a Paris fanatic when I only tagged along to humour my wife when we first visited.

It's here already?! I kept thinking it wasn't until February 6 (coincidentally my saint's day, if anyone wants to get me a gift)Thank you, Casimira, Mossie, and Lizzy! Of course thanks to the "helper" di tutti helpers, who never plods, but continues to dance along with unexpected, informative, and always interesting reports from wherever he happens to be. A huge round of grateful applause to all the members who have gotten this forum from a few people and bare bones to well over six thousand threads and nearly a quarter million posts.
