In a year which brought us the bastardry of photobucket (a curse on their business) we have seen the technical ingenuity of our helpers and their generosity with their time to help us. It has also has drawn in other members to share their skills with us all. Maybe this year we can encourage each other to rescue some of the many beautiful threads that were stolen from us.
Meanwhile, hang in there Kerouac2 and Bixa, you do a marvellous job, and to all the Anyporters. keep doing what you do so well.

I thank all of you for giving me several nice breaks during the day, showing me places I'd love to visit but will never get to, and being smart people ready to weigh in on just about any subject. Special thanks to bixa and kerouac for all they do (it's mysterious to me, but I know it takes a lot to keep the site working well.)
How did anyport attract such a varied and fascinating group of people in 9 years?

Oh goodness ~ thanks so much, Casimira, for remembering and shining forth with the anniversary thread. (Once again, I forgot. ) Echoing Cheery with congratulations to all. And thank you, dear Cheery. Mick -- yes, every year deserves a party and next year's 10th definitely does. You'll be retired, so should be the party planner. Many thanks, Questa, for the compliments to everyone, for the reminder that this is a group effort, and for the encouragement. Thank you, Breeze! You are so right that what really keeps a forum going is the participation of its members. Your kindness and attention is always appreciated. Thanks to you, Mossie, for your humor and all the great threads. (I'm not forgetting you, Kerouac -- I well know how much you do!) Getting back to Breeze's question about how "such a varied and fascinating group of people" was attracted ~ Many viewers wound up here by following something they found on a search engine, others from earlier forums, and maybe some from member recommendations. I do know that many, many people find their way to anyport from thread links that are posted elsewhere online. Let's keep anyport growing and in the public eye by sharing links to content here anywhere you can. And please, don't be modest about your own efforts! You all make pride-worthy threads, so let everyone know via email and social media.

I always have a thought for the people who have disappeared. Some of them have just wandered elsewhere, which is fine, but some of them are gone more permanently from the planet. But lots of other people have also arrived over time -- life goes on!

Who is no longer with us in the earthly realm, other than hwinpp and Don Cuevas? Well, besides the ones we don't know about, there was zonker, who had just started participating. He was palesa's husband. Palesa was one of the early motors of this site. Anyway he died in a car accident near home in South Africa.

Felicitations to all on 10 great years. We are blessed by the techno-angels in our midst disguised as Kerouac2 and Bixa. May the next 10 years bring wonders to our "family".

Late to the party as always, but I agree that 10 years is quite an achievement. Thanks to the two who keep things running smoothly, bixa and kerouac. I don't post much but I keep up or catch up. Every day there's something here to fascinate me.

I dunno. The internet is really starting to feel old, no? I think we need to project our messages on the moon and then bounce them off the planets.

Congratulations to us...and a big thank you to our lovely mods...
I'm still in touch with Myrt altho she doesnt visit forums these days 😕 which is a shame because I believe that this place is a real tonic. Talking to interesting folk and sharing their experiences is brilliant.

I think we need to project our messages on the moon and then bounce them off the planets. I thought you already did this, how the heck did you think I joined up? I'm stuck on the underneath of this planet, and if I hadn't seen APIAS during an eclipse.....
