Well, since it's a Christmas play, I was thinking, um ........ Christmastime??
If that's too short notice, we could do it on Three Kings.
Hey Rikita -- do you know this "response" Christmas song? I'm pretty sure it's originally German, although I don't know the German words. It starts out, "Who knocks so loud?" response: "Oh, two poor travelers we." then: "What seek you here?" response" "A lodging for the night."
That's all I can remember. It's lovely when done well.

Very, very belated thank you, Rikita ~~ Schönen Dank!! That is indeed the song I was thinking of. This is a good opportunity to bounce this thread to the top, as any anyporters who've arrived in the last couple of years surely want to share their board treading experiences with us.

I never got to tread the boards, but was busy making sets, helping actors learn lines and acting as prompt during shows. My city, Adelaide has a major Arts Festival or Fringe Festival each year so there is always something happening if I have time.

Oh, I don't know what to say. It's what I do/have done professionally for over 30 years. I'm performing a concert of a new opera next month. That's got me scared. I don't profess to be a classical singer, but I like a challenge.

Oh my goodness! In a thread listing mostly greasepaint triumphs of past, now we have a committed production/staff member and a real pro. (not forgetting Lola's continuing contribution to dance productions). Questa, it's people like you who allow the usually under-funded troupes to participate in arts festivals, Fringe, etc. Kudos! Lizzy, I had no idea. Admittedly, after your vague reference to professional make-up in a video thread, I've been wondering. I understand your not wanting to reveal your identity on a public forum, but if you ever decide to let the veil drop, we'll be eager to hear you.

Ach, I'm a theatre actor in Canada, which means that pretty much no one has either seen or heard of me. The singing is just an extension of my jack-of-all-trades approach to employment. I was in one Hollywood movie in my youth which put me off the film/television world for life, really. So, no veil to drop. Just one more anonymous worker in the tower of song.
