I like this video because it accurately reflects the ethnic mix of Vancouver, and it gets the urban/wild contrast right.

That's lovely, Lizzy. At first I thought it would be only pretty people doing pretty things, but it expanded to show Vancouver as you describe. I don't know how those poor people were able to watch the destruction of their home. Is that a security camera video they were watching on the phone? Really dreadful. When I was a teenager, one of the plantation houses in my home town burned to the ground as the family watched. The owner later said that watching the rose window melt was one of the most beautiful things she'd ever seen. archives.chicagotribune.com/1951/03/18/page/82/article/romantic-afton-villa

*!* YES.
Admittedly many of us on this forum are snap-happy with our cameras, but I think it's because we want to share what we see with the world, rather than feature ourselves in an ongoing reality show. What gets me, looking at any photographed crowd scene, is how many people are slumped over their phones, rather than interrelating. I recently visited the Luxembourg Garden and what struck me most was the fact that almost everyone there was not on a device. Instead, they were engaged in conversation or taking in the day or reading -- activities that should be commonplace, not remarkable.

We could have done that, except that you refused to have your face painted. Nothing like saying "we've lost many friends", followed by remembering "their love for flying". Is that like saying they fell out of the sky?
