I finally went to visit the new temple today, even though it was inaugurated a few months ago already. They have definitely upgraded a bit.

I was there at 7 p.m. and one of the temple guardians started pulling curtains. I thought it must be closing time. However, I saw on the temple website that it was open until 20:30 but that there were 3 poonas a day at 10, 12 and 19. I have no idea what a poona is, of course. The building where the old temple was will be demolished or gutted soon, not sure which.

I went to google to bone up on ganesh, but instead got sucked into the images. Looks like he began life as a boy, but as the depictions get closer to modern, the eyes get progressively more feminine and now are full-on drag queen. Western gods are sooooo boring by comparison.

Yes, the Indian divinities do appear to be mostly gay blades.

Yes, the Indian divinities do appear to be mostly gay blades. IN the Vodun (voodoo) religion there is a bisexual, transsexual god who spends half the year as a god and half as a goddess and acts as protector and patron of gay people. The temple sounds cool. Where is it? Near the gare du nord?

Yes, Annie, that was a typo -- pooja.
Ilbonito, it's at 17 rue Pajol, right next to metro La Chapelle behind Gare du Nord.
