Some of the secret places on the list at the end are not secrets at all, and some I have never heard of.
In any case, the appeal of secret places is very strong in Paris, probably because it is the most visited city in the world and people will go to great lengths to find places that nobody has ever heard of.
Just last Friday, my boss was trying to hunt down a secret place set up in an abandoned railway station in Paris. I helped him locate it (dark alley in my old neighborhood), and I am hoping that he will report on it tomorrow.

I love railway stations - that one would appeal to me. Most of this scene doesn't at all. I was thinking "tax dodge", but these places, at least, have listings. I knew Olivier Magny because he is among the horde of bloggers who write about Paris, "Stuff Parisians Like". Well, some of it is true, some of it is generalising crap, much of it applies only to a certain class and milieu, and some of it is even borderline racist - as in his piece about "la racaille" some time ago. Now, I don't like street gangs and thugs of any colour or origin more than the next person, and as a not very menacing "femme d'un certain âge", perhaps less still, but there are plenty of thugs of Magny's own background, and they are far less likely to do hard time. o-chateau.com/category/stuff-parisians-like Peronally I find our k2 much better at this stuff.
