Oh, and I want to plug this one (since we are on the "anything is possible" theme). Its a remake of an ancient and venerated folktale about two monks on a pilgrimage to the Holy shrine at Ise in Edo times, except in this version the pair (played by a top pop star and a kabuki actor) are heroin-addicted gay lovers on a motorcycle. It is an absolutely bizarre and mind twistingly surreal comedy - but once you've seen it, you'll never forget it. And it makes you wonder about the culture that could produce it ...

The problem with a lot of Japanese 'camp' is that it looks too much like Western 'camp.' I think the director needs to be sent to Kewpie pasta sauce school!

Why do I think they're channeling that stupid "High School Musical"?
