I'm used to seeing a lot of Canadian flags around here (obviously). But it's surprising how many British flags we have here too. Here's one that stands in our Town Square:

I thought it was interesting that the Hôtel California was flying the Russian, Japanese and British flags.

I thought it was interesting that the Hôtel California was flying the Russian, Japanese and British flags. hmm...It makes you wonder why. Is the Hotel California owned by companies or people from these countries? Mark, that was the Eagles.

The Israeli flag was atop the "Masada" - and ancient ruin near the Dead Sea. The Manitoba flag is three dors down from my own house.

So I took the challenge. I took this picture on my way home from work today. That's the Arizona flag under the US flag. It only took about 20 attempts to capture it somewhat unfurled. The wind was blowing in such a way as to have the US flag at complete attention while the AZ flag hung dejectedly straight down. (The AZ flag is probably a little embarrassed lately.) I really like the design of our state flag. The red and yellow stripes are an homage to Spain and the blue field at the bottom represents liberty. What you can't see is the copper star in the center. Arizona is (or was) the largest producer of copper in the US.

Great photo! I know what you mean cristina, it took many shots for me to get that British flag in or town square. It was an almost windless day.

Across from my office, the George V flies the French flag, the Saudi flag of the owner of the Four Seasons chain Prince al-Waleed, and the Canadian flag of the Four Seasons chain origin.

Nice one. It's kind of good to see that so many places in other countries will display flags from elsewhere.

I walk in front of the Kazakhstan embassy every day. You would not believe how much time the doorman used to spend washing the ambassador's car. In the past year, he has calmed down considerably. Perhaps the ambassador has changed.

I admit I didn't recognize that flag at all. Does it belong to the people who live in that apartment? I finally got a good(ish) picture of the New Brunswick flag. I wonder how many would have recognized it?

Actually that is the embassy of the country in question.
I wouldn't have recognized the NB flag except to know that it was clearly the flag of some region or province. I'm pretty good at recognizing national flags, although I can't always name the country, especially a lot of the sub-Saharan African countries.

I did recognise the NB flag, but seeing as they are a neighbour to the east, that is no great feat. Of course here in Montréal we are a lot closer to the Ontario than the New Brunswick border; I've crossed it when visiting the Gaspé in eastern Québec.
The Lower North Shore also borders on Labrador, part of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, but I've never been that far east on the North Shore.
Casimira, is that at the UN?
